Do your part When you see bullying and you want to take action, remember: Always consider your own and others’ safety. If you fear for your physical safety, get help. Think about your own and others’ emotional impact. If you’re afraid of social implications if you step in, see if you can get friends to take action with you. When others join in, laugh or watch from the sidelines without speaking up, bullying is more likely to continue. When others speak up or refuse to take part in any way, bullying is less likely to happen. When people step in to stop bullying, it can be a chain reaction – the more people who take action when they see it, the more people who are likely to follow.
