I was looking through videos of my old performances in my piano recitals and I found this. It's from around two years ago(as of spring/summer 2021), and it was recorded on an iPhone 7 so the audio quality isn't great. A bit of unnecessary context: basically after I sung this, I felt really proud of myself and there was a talent show coming up in school to celebrate the end of the year. Being super overconfident of myself and overall very chill with embarrassing myself, I signed up. Maybe not the best choice, since I didn't have my piano teacher there to play the accompaniment. But I was going to sing solo and acapella, fine. Sure. You do that. What I really absolutely was not expecting was for my super duper awesome amazing friend to pretty much just decide on the day of the talent show that they would play guitar accompaniment for me. And oh my gosh it was so awesome to not have that stupid feeling of being alone in front of people but ahhhhh. There's something very different about performing in front of like 7 other kids, their parents, and your parents and grandparents and performing in front of half the grade, about 150 kids and like 4 or 5 teachers. For complicated reasons, fear got the better of me, also I had never practiced with my friend before and got kinda confused constantly as to where I was supposed to be so I kept jumping around in the lyrics. And because I was kinda freaking out, my voice was just like, no, pen. Not today you're not gonna show everyone that you can be anything other than annoying! Not today! Long story short, I was super quiet and flat and getting the notes wrong and I sounded like a horse with laryngitis or something. I was really embarrassed and pretty much sat there hugging my knees so no one would look at me for the rest of the talent show. In hindsight though, it was actually kinda fun. Although I feel really bad for embarrassing my friend because they were onstage with me and I didn't pull my weight in performance.
