This is Splashe (silent e). She was born on a sailor's boat, her mother being a cat the sailors had adopted to rid of unwanted rodents. Her mother's name was Pearl, and she was a pearly cream-white she-cat with hazel eyes. Splashe's father was a stow-away cat who had been running from the Animal Control officers. The boat was his only escape, and he discreetly boarded. Her father's name was Bale, and he was a golden tabby tom with darker patches and darker stripes. His eyes were a greenish-gray. Bale was attempting to steal food from a sack of bread, when a mouse scampered in. Bale tried to catch the mouse, but it was fast and it ran from the storage room and around the corner. When Bale had rounded the corner, he saw Pearl, the mouse in her jaws. She was angry with Bale for sneaking on, but she couldn't help falling in love with his kind and hilarious ways. So, Pearl and Bale fell in love. They had four kits; Silver, a silvery white she-kit with blue-gray eyes. Small, a little black tom with hazel eyes. Stripe, a golden tom-kit with lighter stripes on only his face and tail and fore-legs and vibrant green eyes. Then, Splashe. The kits grew up together on the boat, spending most of their time in the storage room and closet. Their parents were strict about letting them around the ship, for the sailors would sell them if they were found. One day, Splashe awoke to the rapid and loud splashing sound against the sides of the boat. She couldn't fall asleep, so she sneaked out of the closet and wandered up on deck. The sounds had come from a battering storm, and she was almost swept overboard with a wave when a Sailor caught hold of her. He tossed her downstairs, causing her to break a front leg, and decided he would deal with her later. Pearl and Bale scolded her for disobeying them, yet they knew they couldn't let her be sold. So they gathered their five and a half moon old kits and ran off at the next docking. They explored into the forest, where Splashe's leg soon healed. There, they decided to retire from sea life for a while and raise their kits till they could on their own. When the litter was old enough, Pearl and Bale said goodbye. The young siblings ran off to explore life, and their parents went back to board the ship. The sailors were glad to see her, but were not fond of having another mouth to feed (aka Bale). Pearl wanted to keep Bale, but soon they fought over things. Bale didn't want to be kept in a closet all his life, and Pearl told him she couldn't leave the boat. The things that didn't matter tore them apart. So, Bale went and found a farm to live on. When Splashe heard her parents had broken up, she decided she would find love that would never wear out.
