Have a wonderful day~ _____________________________________________ ____________________________ Sheri pushed through the tall grass, the marshy ground pushing against her paws as she set them down. There was finally a brake in the trees. She glanced up, and was met with a cloudy mess. Pausing for a moment, Sheri backtracked a bit, and hooked her claws to the nearest tree, hoisting herself up. She swung herself around to the next branch, and then the next, until she was at the top. Sheri peaked out of the canopy of the tree. It was super windy. The clouds overhead were a dark shade of violent grey. Sheri felt her breath catch in her mouth as she stared up at the clouds. Plop. Sheri felt a small droplet hit her nose, and at this, she felt a new wave of anxiety wash over her body. Glancing around her, her gaze was drawn to a tree that was larger than most of the others. The wind increased, nearly bowling her over, and Sheri had to dig her claws into the bark of the tree. A sudden feeling of being surreal came over her. Cold washing in from where she breathed it in with her mouth, washing over her body, soothing her. The wind felt like it was playing with her fur and hair, gushing against her side. Sheri breathed in, a sudden peace striking her like a blade, as the minty fresh air froze her lungs. SNAP, shatter. A sudden lightning strike jarred Sheri out of her trance, and she looked over to see the tall tree she'd been gazing at earlier- on fire. Just then, the rain increased. It fire was doused, and it was over just as quick as it had come. But that's not what worried Sheri as she began to climb down the tree, it was the storm. The clouds were big and rambunctious, not enough to form a tornado, or a hurricane- but enough that she wanted to get out of this marshy place. Find somewhere with more solid ground. Thank goodness for the cover of the trees, or Sheri was sure she would have been blown away by now. Plop. Another droplet. Only this time, it's meaning was much more ominous now that she was under the trees. The rain was getting through. At this, Sheri felt another gust of icy cold rest it's wings upon her- only this time it didn't calm her, it didn't freeze her- it electrified her. She got the sudden feeling that she could run as far as she wanted, that she could jump as high as she wanted. That she could do this. Adrenaline. It was here, even now, when it failed to come to her at times when she needed it most. But that didn't matter. She needed to use it. Sheri lifted her nose to sniff the air, but she couldn't smell much other than the scent of rain and damp leaves- then the faint scent of flowers. Something clicked within Sheri, and she was off like a lightning bolt (Pun intended). Jumping over logs, and plunging through small patches of mud, she continued, running, jumping, climbing as fast as she could in her state of electricity. With a sudden howling from the wind, Sheri broke through the trees. The open field, that she'd been avoiding for so long. Her gaze swept the field, settling on one of the monoliths that had been scattered around the field, it looked newly uprooted, and had fallen over onto it's side. Sheri lurched toward it, making a mad dash for the stone, adrenaline still powering her forward like an engine. Sheri screeched to a stop in front of the stone, only taking a moment to look back- facing the furious clouds and the storm- before shoving her paws beneath the rock somehow, and beginning to dig a small hole. She'd done this four times before, and was therefore quite experienced in the matter. She unsheathed her claws, clawing up small stones and shoving them aside, the digging only seemed to get easier as the ground got softer beneath her paws. Sheri didn't know if it was the rain softening up the dirt, or the adrenaline still racing through her bones, but the hole was just big enough for her in no time. However her sense of time seemed to have faded away after the lightning striking the tree earlier, so it could have been hours. Sheri crawled into the small hole, forcing herself not to shudder as she stepped into a small level of mud. This would do. For now. She curled up inside, the cramped space finally draining the energy that had been flowing through her ever since the adrenaline spike. How exhausted she was hit her like a rock on the head, causing her to suddenly lay down more than she already had. Sheri peaked out of the hole, as it was the only resting spot for her face in the incredibly cramped space, that was not covered in mud. Sheri let her exhaustion overtake her as she zoned out, staring up into the storm. Finally safe as she could get in this arena. . I found the Audio, and it reminded me of Sheri, lemme know if you wanna see it animated!
