Woo, art process! It's for the ~ fully colored ~ version of those 2 animatic frames in my previous project Space, tap, or right arrow for next slide and left arrow for previous The song is Ready As I'll Ever Be from Tangled The Series Now, onto actual process stuffs! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1) The thumbnail sketch for the first frame, nothing too exciting 2) Thumbnail sketch of the second frame 3) For this sketch I imported the photos into a drawing app so I could do the rest digitally. Starting out with the first frame bc I could, I had to expand a little out of the thumbnail bc Violet (left) was cut off, which /was/ intentional but canvas dimensions are confusing 4) Lowered the opacity of the first sketch and moved onto the second thumbnail to work on the changes in frame 2, mainly Violet's arms & shoulder positions 5) Hid the thumbnail layers and moved onto lineart! I did all of Aria (right) except her mouth bc that's all that changes between frames. For Violet I did her head, hair, eyes, nose, and glasses, but not the body or mouth bc those change between frames. 6) Lineart completed for frame one! As you can see, I finished Violet's torso and arms, nothing too exciting. 7) Lineart for frame two! For this I hid the main sketch layer and referenced the frame two sketch instead so I could focus on the lines better. And here's a trick, The only part of Violet's body that changes between frames is her arms. Her torso is actually the same between frames, but through the magic of layer duplicating and merging it's on two different layers lol. Also, Violet's arm positions were incredibly annoying bc I needed to get her emotions across and ahfijkslaflk 8) Added a background and pillar thing (Here's where I did the coloring that you see in the two-frame animatic) 9) There's the colors that stay the same between frames: Pillar thing, hair, skin, and clothes (shirt and pants for Violet). I always love coloring Violet's hair >:3 Oh, and Violet's glasses are just a layer of light blue with a low opacity 10) Frame two exclusive coloring! Violet's labcoat, eyes, mouth, and the tiny bit of hand you see. Also Aria's eyes bc while I would normally put all eye colors on the same layer, Violet's eyes do change and I didn't want to make a whole layer just for Aria's. 11) Exclusive frame one coloring, including Violet's labcoat again, her eyes but a different color, and Aria's eyes (lol) and mouth. But that's it for coloring! 12) Added an overlay to top it all off! Just a solid purple set on multiply and at 50% opacity. Frame one finished :3 13) Frame two finished! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So that's roughly my art process! And holy hecc that drawing is 27 layers- the one with flat colors is 19 layers- w o a h Duplicating drawings to have 2 different copies go brrrr But yes this was very fun, hope you enjoyed! I stg if I do more of this animatic and put this much time & effort into them I'll never finish-
