This resulted in many battles for the English Throne. Harold Godwinson was name the King by the higher English church and his coronation was on the same day and same place as Kind Edwards funeral coincidentally. Edgar the Aethling backed away as he was only 15 and Harold Godwinson was waiting down on the South Coast for William Duke Of Normandy to attack but strong winds forced William to not attack when they wanted and this made William furious. Harald Hadrada attacked up north by York at the Battle of Stamford Bridge where Harold Godwinson won. But then winds stopped down south and William the conqueror invaded England. Harold was forced to go and attack after a long battle and was very tired so eventually William the conqueror gained the English Throne and defeated Harold Godwinson.
