It's fun to look back on old uses of the word "gay" meaning happy. Why? Because, as a gay myself, I enjoy the poem Monday's Child: Monday's child is fair of face, Tuesday's child is full of grace. Wednesday's child is full of woe, Thursday's child has far to go. Friday's child is loving and giving, Saturday's child works hard for a living. And the child born on the Sabbath day Is bonny and blithe, good and gay. I my self was born on a Sunday, so I found that the funniest thing I've ever seen. Could a simple poem predict the future? Well, what day of the week were you born?
