This is the story: My trip to Kauai. A 12-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl travel to Kauai and get taken out to sea. They then end up stranded on an island with pirates. Will they ever find their home again? Chapter 1. Got all your stuff? My Mom asked. Yeah, said 9-year-old Rose. How long are we staying for? I Asked. Two months, My mother replied. Your dad needs a break. With all that designing he'll be up at 10:00 every morning. So where are we going to again? I asked. Kauai, she said. Then she started explaining the fundamentals of going to Kauai. I'm James, 12 Years old. My mom likes to talk a lot. So, I usually Space off. Then I looked over at my sister. She looked at me with an annoyed face and rolled her eyes. Finally, after about 5 minutes my mom stopped talking. But it seemed 2 like hours. Ok honey, time to pack our bags into the car. My sister made a long sigh. It's not that she didn't like trips it's just the part of packing for trips that she doesn't like. We took out our bags to the car. We tossed our clothes into the Range rover. I carried out my bags while my sister carried hers out too. Except two times slower than me. I finally had finished putting my bags in the car, so I was done. I went to go and sit down. But then my mom interrupted me. Sweetie, can you please help your sister load the car. I got up sighed, and then scowled down at the ground as I walked past her. I loaded my sisters' bags one by one into the car. One seemed to be about 25 pounds. I asked what's in this one? She replied with I don’t know. The sentence that I hated the most. I unzipped it and took a quick peek into it. You put fluffy in here? Fluffy is our 6-year-old tabby by the way. Well, he would be lonely, and I thought he could come. Mom sighed. No sweetie you wouldn't want him to get lost, would you? Ok she said sorry. We finally got into the car with all our bags and drove off. Chapter 2 My sister was on her I pad playing some odd dress up the doll game. While I was playing Motorcycle games on mine. It was a very long car ride but finally we were at the airport. My dad went up to the desk and said something. I don't quite remember. But then we were checked by security. And brought our bags to the people who would ship it to Kauai. Finally, after all of that we were boarding the plane. Nobody ever said where it was going to. Well, they probably did, I just probably didn't care enough to listen to them. Fasten your seatbelts. The pilot said. As we were taxied out to the runway. Mom is it safe going on a plane? Rose asked. Yes of course sweetie. She replied with a sincere smile. How long will it take us to get there I asked. Six hours. She spoke. Three there, and then we stop and take another one to Kauai. Then Dad started explaining some things about how planes are safe and tested so they won't crash. But the rumbling sound of the planes' engine cut him off in the middle of his sentence. Then my dad said, stop wait where are my anxiety pills? Then he dug through his bag got them and swallowed two. Now he was fine and not so overwhelmed as usual. Then the plane took off. We were finally airborne. After about two and a half hours we got off the plane. Chapter 3 Departure was heavy. With multiple hundreds of people swarming the lobby. And then we were on the next plane. Except this one took longer than the last. Dad once again taking his anxiety pills. And mom reading a magazine. I had already played about every single game on my I pad, so I decided to listen to an audiobook. The Magic Misfits, it was my favorite audio book. Even though I've heard it a ton of times, I just felt like I was one of the characters. Another good one was Peter Pan. And I felt like I was a boy in that story too. After about forty-five minutes I got board of the book. You know, when you already herd it, and you space off and then come back to real life. I decided to look out the window. I saw tons of birds and people. I was excited and so was my sister. But apparently, she was more interested in The dress up your own Barbie and doll game. I sighed. Mom asked what was wrong. I replied with, why do girls like doll games so much? She's just being a little girl. Mom responded. Good grief I said. She wants to play that ridiculous game twenty-four seven. It's so annoying- a lady came on the intercom of the plane. Arrival in about fifteen minutes. She exclaimed. Please fasten your seatbelts until further notice. We're almost there guys. Dad said in an annoyed temper. He had just been woken up by the almost yelling flight lady. Finally, we were landing. It was scary at first how the plane went side to side. It felt like a closed roller coaster ride. But then as we slowed down, it got way smoother. Chapter 4, Part 1 (Look in notes and credits)
Dad and I went into the restaurant to get takeout. By the time My Dad had ordered I could hear my sister wailing in the car. She gets cranky when she's hungry. Then the door opened so hard the bell on it completely snapped off the chain. A rough looking man stomped through the doorway. He looked about 45 years old. With a long beard almost to his Bellybutton. He had a beautiful Silver hook on one hand. Give me a round of scotch boys! He yelled. You can't cut my dad said. And then just in moments time, he shoved my Dad up against the wall. I cut anyone he yelled, then he hit my dad hard across the face with his hard metal hook. I grabbed the food and we got out of there as fast as we could. I got into the car with my sister still crying. But had seemed to tone it down a little. Mom asked what happened. I replied for dad that he got hit in the nose by a Pirate, and his hook. Honey, he said. Could you please drive? Yes, she replied with a sigh. Then Mom hopped into the driver's seat.
