*** Hello, new Leaders! Here is a list of things to include in your cabin description! ~ Compulsory: ~ Themed introduction story This is a thematically appropriate introduction to your cabin! It should be written in/themed around your cabin genre. You might want to include yourself + your cos, and use it to establish the start of a storyline or cabin activity (eg - treasure hunt or virtual quest). It's best if you establish a theme/aesthetic for your Cabin, just so it looks nice ;D Example (sci-fi nov 2020 - credit to @perfectlypinkpanda): You type in the date and step into the machine you created. Suddenly, you're standing outside of a huge building, blinking in the sunlight. There are people hovering around, wearing strange fashions and tapping on unseen screens-- you're amazed. You really invented a time travel machine! "Hi!" someone says, and you turn. Three girls are standing there, waving at you. The one who spoke, with golden-brown hair and glasses, smiles. "You must be the new camper in the Sci-Fi cabin?" You nod, and the four of you walk inside. Campers are walking around, getting settled. "Welcome to Scratch Writing Camp!" Link to Main Cabin Names + word counts of leader and cos Camper list + word counts You will receive your list of campers + their word counts after sorting - likely sometime at the very end of the month before SWC :D Credits This includes credit to past and current hosts, you and your cos, as well as to any other people who have helped create the cabin or provided inspiration. ~ Optional: ~ Here is a list of symbols for decorating your cabin: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/34496532/ Be considerate when using fancy fonts or symbols in your cabin. Scratchers who are dyslexic and/or use screenreaders might struggle reading your cabin title/description. In-Cabin point system: An in-cabin point system is usually themed around your cabin genre (eg: sci-fi’s baby stars). Points can be won through completing dailies/weeklies as well as writing a set amount of words (eg: 1k) - but you can invent your own tasks to win points for as well. If you provide a prize for winning the most points, it will ̶b̶r̶i̶b̶e̶- inspire your campers to write more! Cabin Hangout Studio: This is a separate studio where your campers can talk and play games! Cabin Announcements: This is just a section you can put in your Cabin description where you talk about what’s going on. Very useful if you’re planning a storyline or in-cabin activity! List of Allies, Neutrals and Enemies: This is only applicable if you decide to have allies + enemies - but if you do, I'd certainly recommend putting it in! Your list should be easily accessible during Cabin Wars so your campers can see who to war (and who not to war). Camper Expectation List: This is just a list of expectations you have for your campers. This could include things like 'Be active at least 3 days a week', 'Write at least 1k words in July' or 'Complete at least 1 weekly'! Link to a FAQ: You can link to an existing FAQ, or make your own. Here's a great FAQ! (up-to-date as of July 2021) Link to Word War project (once released) Prizes: You can offer prizes for completing tasks like the dailies and weeklies! You can offer anything from art requests to writing commissions to banner designs - or anything else you can think of. Studio Description Character Limit: 5k Your cabin description does not need to be completed until the beginning of camp! Don't worry - you have plenty of time ^^ That's all for now. Congrats on being chosen, and have fun! - Alba
