Chapter Five- I sat crying at the edge of Riverclan territory. "No... No... No..." I sobbed. "This can't... can't... be happening." Was this my punishment for trying to protect my friends? Tears leaked out of my (now orange) eyes and soaked into my (black! why?) fur. I tried shaking the spiders off my pelt. Thankfully my fur wasn't as thick and fluffy as the original Spider Deity's was, so I managed to shake most of them off. I closed my eyes with a long sigh. "What now?" I asked myself. "What happens now?" "That is a very good question." A voice from behind me said. I spun around. "W-who?" "You're not the actual Spider Deity- are you?" The tall she-cat facing me asked. "I can tell, you aren't as heavy-set and thick-furred as the actual one." "No!" I cried. "They some-somehow turned me into this!" "I can tell," the she-cat said grimly. "But how you'll go back to normal is a mystery, now." "Who are you?" I asked. "Laurelwing. Leader of the Dark Forest." Was her answer. I backed away in fear. "Do you honestly think that the Dark Forest is what you should be worrying about, right now?" "I- What else should I be worrying about." "Many things." "Laurelwing, why are you helping me?" "I used to be the Butterfly Deity. Believe me, I know what you're feeling." I lowered my head. "Thank you." "Now," Laurelwing said. "Follow me." "Where are we going?" I asked. "To my home. The Dark Forest."
