Fact 2: Sally Ride co-founded her own company to help instruct kids (mainly girls) about space and science. Fact 3: Sally Ride wrote a lot of books about her experience in space. She left college for a year to try to pursue a career in professional tennis, but eventually decided to become an astronaut. Fact 4: Sally Ride married twice. Once to her fellow astronaut and once to a person called Tam O'Shaughnessy. She had no kids but had a sister called Karen Ride. Fact 5: Sally Rides second space flight was on the STS-41-G in 1984. She spent a total of more than 343 hours (about 2 weeks) in space. She never got to do her third and final mission because the Challenger exploded.
