aaah so I was bored while listening to the Mandalorian ost, and inspiration suddenly hit me in the head ahaha .......AND OMG THIS IS LIKE MY BEST ART SO FAR!?!?! --------------------------------------------------------------- 1) ok so first choose a ref pic (greatly recommend) 2) sketch! just getting down the basic main shapes. NO ERASER, 2 MINUTES TOPS! You want to go fast and loose, don't overthink it or it wont be as good hjdkdls 3) I legit didn't do a single brush stroke here, just used the lasso tool to edit lines. Adjust strokes by moving, rotating, stretching, etc. ~get a clearer idea of form! 4) Lineart oooh- clean things up & add necessary details. Keep it thin and fast, don't redraw lines constantly and by all means dOnT have separate layers for each stroke *cough I'm looking at you B cough* 5) Background layout, not complicated or detailed, just getting a feel of the piece. I usually start with the background first cause it helps me fit the character in with their surroundings better ig 6) I started coloring in the subject! Not super complicated, it's mainly a color block. Use color variation to keep the piece interesting! so like WhAt moOd dO yoU waNt to cOnveY 7) ✧bod✧ (same thing from #5)- Also like omg what bop this is hahahha 8) no new steps here but its baby yoda and I felt like that deserved its own step 9) I'm gonna go lineless, so I start that process by hiding my line layer & seeing how defined my shapes are. Luckily, my shapes are pretty defined so I can still see what I'm doing. If you are having trouble seeing what shape is what, then that tells you to go back and add more stuff to your colorblock hh 10) I spent like waY too long working the helmet pff- P much just keep adding/working/detailing...also don't be afraid to change it from the lineart a little! Btw- I always do the bulk of the piece in two main layers. Background & character/subject. This way, you have a lot more control over everything and it changes/adjusts as a whole rather than as individual elements. It'll look better and make everything easier 11) ✧the rest of the bod✧ 12) Once again I gave baby yoda his own step cause HES HEcKING ADORABLE AAHH 13) basic background shading eeeew 14) up until now, I have used nothing but a textured brush and an airbrush for glow. Now, I am playing around with some other brushes for additional texture and atmosphere oOoooH 15) *cool kid effects* I used some blur, chromatic aberrations, color adjustments, posterize, & stuff like that 16) Last minute touch-ups and signature! HECK YES I AM FINALLY DONE --------------------------------------------------------------- Aaaaaaaaaaaaa so if anybody has any specific questions just lmk and also critiques/suggestions would be greatly appreciated plsplss :0 ty!
