Chapter Two : The Old Man… ========================================== The light from the castle started to fade once the voice left. “ W-WAIT!! W-who are you?! W-where are you?! Where am I?” The voice didn’t answer him, but he shook his head, feeling lost and uneasy, after a few moments he looked down the other side of the hill, seeing an older looking hedgehog, a hood over his head and covering his face so you couldn’t see what he looked like. “Malcom!! Malcom! He’s awake! He’s actually awake! “ A dark grey and white wolf with red eyes ran up to the old man, his tail wagging as he ran in circles, exited. “Calm down young Transformling……while it is clear that Ace has awaken from his long slumber…..it is most certain that this long sleep deprived him of his memories……” The wolf like creature suddenly stopped and just looked at him, his tail starting to droop. “Oh……right…..” “…don’t worry Spade……..everything will be okay…..” Spade looked up at the old hedgehog. “If you say so…..” “Excuse me….?” Ace had walked over to the two after their conversation, looking completely confused. “Ah……hello Ace…… “ ‘ Ace…’ the male hedgehog thought to himself after hearing the name. ‘ Both the voice….and this guy know me by that…… ‘ “ ACE! Your awake! Your alive! “ Spade ran over to him happily. “eHhHhHhhH-“ He backed away, quite uneasy. “How exactly do you know me….? HECK- I don’t even know what’s going on right now-“ “Calm down young one…. “ the old man stood up “ as of right now…..we are only friends…..if that role changes later on….then so be fate…..so…..how has your time out of the shrine of resurrection been as far…? “ Ace paused and looked down. “Well……I-I’m hearing a voice……a female voice…….t-that……..s-she’s what woke me up…..” The old man looked up. “A female voice ey…? Well….I say for now…..let things come what may…….here…..you look like you need a new look….those clothes your wearing barley fit you……and you have nothing to cover your poor feet…” as he said that the old man reached to his other side of where he was sitting and pulled out what looked like a new tunic, some casual tan trousers and brown boots. “Take em.” Ace squinted a bit then grabbed the garbs from him, examining them further, then he looked down at Spade, who was sitting at his feet. “Um…..hi? “ Spade whimpered a bit then stood up. “Hi….I’m spade…” “Whaaaaaa- you can taallkkk….? “ “Yeessss………you’ve known me your eeenttiirreee life and now you fOrGet me……..it hurts a bit….ehhhhh but I know it’s not your faauulltttt……you were just trying to protect Lightning……” Right as the transformling said the name, Ace’s ears perked up and he looked at him again. “L-Lightning….? Whos….that…? It…sounds….almost familiar……” The old man stood up and walked over to him. “Let’s not worry about it now…..this plateau is quite large and you should probably get something to eat…..I would alsssooo…watch out for monsters if I were you…..” “MONSTERS?! “ The older hedgehog chuckled at his response “No need to worry! Besides….Spade will be with you….right…? “ Spade’s eyes lit up when he said that and his tail started to wag again. “Of course! I’ll keep him in check! “ he ended with a grin. “Heh…..then I suggest you get going……and here……” the old man handed Ace one baked apple, a warm smile hidden under the hood. “You need it more than I do……” ==========================================
