Blackbeard (real name Edward Teach) was an english pirate who raided merchant's ships for loot and supplies around the West Indies and the eastern coast of Britain's North American colonies. In battle, he lit fuses in with beards to intimidate his enemies, his boats were also covered cannons. he died on 22 November 1718 when he was shot five times and stabbed 20 times in an ambush by the Royal Navy. Some say his body rotated around the navy's ship before sinking to the sea floor!
