I'm one of those people that is always thinking about things differently and trying to see multiple sides to the situation. Recently, a thought came in my head: art block, is it good or bad? At first glance, art block is clearly not the best thing ever. We've all experienced art block and it can be quite frustrating. However, what comes after art block? Well, we know that art block can be caused by many things, someone bringing you down, lack of self confidence, and a downward spiral of things in your personal life. So, seeing that negative things cause art block, positive things must cure art block. This past week, I have had art block. I saw a really good piece of art with incredible anatomy, this caused me to feel down about my art because my anatomy isn't the best. When I went to go practice, I couldn't draw the body of a cat. Art block has a negative effect on our drawing skills and makes us feel like we can't draw. However, what if art bock is good? What if it serves an extremely important purpose in our art improvement? You know that feeling when you over come art block? That wonderful feeling like you can draw anything? That's improvement. Art block causes improvement. Let me give you an example, you're drawing on a piece of paper and you've covered almost the entire page with drawings. You're trying to squeeze in that one last bit of art to fill up the page but it's really hard, you keep trying and trying and trying until finally, you get it onto a new piece of paper, a better piece of paper. Art block is the in-between, the struggle to get that last piece of art onto the better piece of paper. Art block can be difficult and frustrating, but at the end of the day, art block is helps us move forward. thank you so much if you read until the end! <33
I hope this give you a fresh look at art block <33 idea/writing - me art - me
