here's some stuff about my own fantasy species. In this world dragon, people are called wyvern. There are two types of wyverns: Sun Wyverns and Moon Wyverns. SUN WYVERNS: They live in warm volcanic caves in the sun region. They're separate from the sun kingdom and govern themselves with a wyvern ruler. Usually, rulers are inherited from birthright but sometimes they can be chosen by everyone in the kingdom. They tend to be pretty chill and help people if they're kind to them, but they're also meant to be respected and if disrespected it never ends well. They like shining gold and expensive metals, putting them in many places in their caves and clothing. Sun wyverns have strong sturdy fire dragons that live in the caves alongside them. They view dragons as equals, treating them with respect. Having a strong bond with a dragon isn’t uncommon but is seen as an honorable quality. In Wyvern culture earning the respect of a dragon is almost mandatory to be an honorable wyvern warrior. CLOTHING: Usually, rulers of the dragon kingdom wear tons of gold and lava stones, a very expensive and regal kind of mineral. They wear regal reds, golds, and black and tend to wear little clothing due to the warm climate. Only rulers are allowed to wear black, due to the rarity of the fabric in the volcanic caves and the practicality of it. They wear the teeth of past dragons and lots of dragon teeth are seen as honorable. They also wear gold crowns that are shaped like horns, occasionally dazzling them with gems and copper. Then there are the fighters within their society. They usually wear protective leg and tail gear since they tend to use their lower half to fight. They also use their claws and fire magic in battle as well. They also wear headpieces however they're either gold or copper. They also wear dragon teeth in their ears, belts, and chokers to come off as more threatening. Unlike other wyverns, they don't wear much jewelry since it would get in the way of fighting. Wyvern warriors usually keep their hair up in tight buns or ponytails while fighting. Medics tend to wear the normal citizen outfit with a few more tweaks. They wear bags with herbs and have a belt that carries bottles for storing medicine. They wear bright red capes to signify their duties and color may vary depending on the job a certain medic does. They wear thick leather boots and gloves to make sure they don’t infect any patients. Their hair is either tightly tied, fully shaven, or covered with the hood of their cape. Citizens wear reds, yellows, copper, and occasionally gold if they’re on the wealthier side. Women wear a wide range of styles with cloth tops that either wrap horizontally around their chests or vertically. They’re usually laced with gold or copper, they don’t have to wear tops though if they don’t want to. For pants, both men and women wear cloth wrapped around their waists, usually with a cloth flap hanging from the back and front. It's not uncommon for this cloth to be wrapped into a skirt as well. Wyverns also wear lots of jewelry no matter what your job is (unless you’re a warrior) They wear dangling gold earrings and nose rings. Occasionally eyebrow or nipple piercing is also common. For common folk they’re usually gold or copper, for royalty, it's usually gold or lava stone.
HOUSING AND LOCATION: Wyverns live under the sun crystal and live in the sun region as well. Their magic relies on the sun and fire. They live in volcanic caves and around mountains. They use caves to build their homes and bigger caves are often left for dragon housing or royals. Houses are scattered around the mountains with secured stone pathways leading to certain areas. The mountain's base is where the shops are located. It's town-like, with shops and food vendors. Hot springs also reside within the volcano and at the base and have been converted into spas and beautiful attractions where festivals take place. There's also dragon housing at the bottom as well. They live near the sun kingdom but are not controlled under them, in fact, Wyverns heavily dislike the sun kingdom and only refuse to attack due to a peace treaty. Wyverns are notable for keeping their word. Wyverns live in the volcanic valleys and the volcanic mountain near the sun kingdom, it only takes a short flight to get there if they wished. The commoner housing in the mountains usually is two houses close together. They run deep into cave systems and have tunnels leading to other places. They get their heating from the stagnant lava and their cooling from the snowy mountain tops. From the outside the homes seem small yet inside they are quite large with certain other cave areas with rooms for families. They use lanterns for lighting that they hang around the inside and out of their homes. Their homes are built with stone, copper, and other materials found within the volcano. Royalty lives in the biggest opening and most noticeable in the mountain. They’re lined with beautifully carved stone towers with dragons and phoenixes carved into them. There's cloth carpet traded from the sun kingdom that's lined with gold silk string and a throne in the middle. Deeper inside the royal cave are medic housing and nurseries. Royals share their cave with the medics as well. On the other side of the cave is the royalties' own house. With bedrooms and kitchens, the cave is ever-growing. The mountain base has shops, landmarks, and warrior housing. Warriors and their families live by the base of the mountain where dragons also lie, so in case of an attack they can hurry out. The housing is like commoner housing just changed to fit the land. Dragons tend to walk around towns, they’re smart creatures so they’re careful to not hurt or break anything. They sleep in lower base caves in the valley. Deep in the caves are lava stones, gold, copper, silver, and fire crystals. CULTURE\SOCIETY\TRADING: Sun Wyverns worship the gods under the sun crystal. Every year they have a fire show where they light big fires, eat ceremonial food, wear ceremonial clothing, and give offerings to gods under the sun crystal. The festival lasts the whole day, and the sun goddess keeps the sun up all day until about midnight when it sets. Once the sun sets the festival ends. It's similar to the Sun festival where the sun kingdom worships the sun goddess. However, both parties get very angry when they're called the same. They also have a yearly offering. Where they give offerings to the dragon and volcano gods to keep them happy and aid them in the coming years. Societal status exists yet doesn't carry much weight. While rulers do rule over the Sun wyverns they’re just there to host events, make sure their people are happy, pick warriors, and help lead wars if they happen. If wyverns are unhappy with a ruler they won't hesitate to dethrone them and pick a new leader. They all hold equal power mostly, with little problems, which if exists are usually swiftly solved. Warriors are a very respected part of Wyvern society, they’re protectors of their home and if a warrior is seen breaking the wyvern code they will be instantly dropped as a warrior. Dragons in Wyvern culture are seen as close to god figures yet not actual gods. They're creatures that should be respected, and if disrespected if one even makes it out alive will be banished from Wyvern society. Warriors usually have close bonds with dragons and are a very significant part of a Wyvern warrior's journey. Dragon teeth are made into jewelry from past dragons, they’re seen as honorable and respectable. The more dragon teeth you have the more respected you should be. Trading is also common. Despite their disliking for each other Sun Wyverns and the Sun kingdom have materials and minerals that are needed for them. The Sun kingdom brings Wyverns clothing materials and certain fruits, foods, and spices, while Wyverns give the sun kingdom dragon scales, stones, and certain meats only accessible in the volcanic valley and mountain.
