Ocean Light was born in a beach-house near the ocean. Her dad disappeared before Ocean Light was born, and couldn't be found. Her mother was the only family she had left because she has no siblings or other extended family members. Ocean Light loved the sea. She went to the nearby beach every day and had lots of fun alone. One day, she jokingly thought, "How does the water move? Is someone doing this?" So she decided to try it out for herself, and to her surprise, she was a waterbender! It turned out that her mother's stories about benders were actually true. Now that she could waterbend, helped her mother with things that required water. Whenever they needed to wash their clothes, Ocean Light got some water from the sea, filtered it so that it had no salt + debris, and washed their clothes. Whenever they were thirsty, she did the same thing. Waterbending turned out to be quite useful, but Ocean Light didn't realize how special her powers were. At the beach one day, a man saw her waterbending the sea water in the air and creating shapes with it. "How is such a thing was possible? Waterbenders were wiped out centuries ago," he said. Ocean Light's face became pale. "Wait, what? How am I the only waterbender alive? How were the rest wiped out?" she thought. The man laughed in a creepy way, then left the beach. Ocean Light was terrified, and cried herself to sleep. For the next several weeks, Ocean Light did not go to the beach that she loved so dearly. She thought she was lucky enough to not be kidnapped or taken for testing. Ocean Light stayed inside her beach-house with her mother, and only went out when it was absolutely necessary - not to the beach, though.
