DIamonds are really good to have. they are tricky though. Diamonds are very deep usually at Y 15 to 8 2. you will need a iron pickaxe or better (better as gold,Diamond or netherite). If you mine DIamonds with a wooden or stone then the block will break but they won't give you DIamonds.
