Hi. Ok, so I'm sure this isn't the first rant of it's kind you've seen. I just wanted to clear something up because for some weird reason some people don't get the message. We. Are. Humans. Too. Every Scratcher is. We aren't just icons communicating with pixels. We are actual people behind a screen. HOW ARE YOU FORGETTING THIS? We have feelings and lives you know. Everytime a "famous" Scratcher is inactive for more than a week there's comment after comment saying something like "ru ded?!". Stop. Just stop. They have a life, they do other things than Scratch. It's annoying, ok. And on top of that death isn't funny. It's not a word that should be lightly used. Yet we see it being thrown around all the time, but that's a topic for another day. Art theft, stealing, and being rude and mean is also a huge problem. The ST just officially said art theft is ok (https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/417686/?page=1#post-4164336) so there has been a lot of talk about that. Going back to the "we're humans too" thing. Stealing someone's art or recoloring it or tracing it is like if you took one of Vincent van Gogh's paintings and colored all over it, or stole it and told the world /you/ painted it, etc. It's not original at all. You're just copying. Nothing creative or original to it. Digital art was made by /real/ people and when you steal that art it's really hurtful, whether you realize it or not. I feel like I'm rambling so mOvInG oN- Hate. Mean comments and rude actions are becoming more and more abundant. Like I've said a million times WE ARE STILL PEOPLE! We have feelings. Words hurt. Just stop. Is it benefiting you? No! And it surely isn't benefiting anyone else so quit it. On the flip side some should-be positive comments can also be hurtful. Saying something like "your art/coding/animations/etc are so gud! Imma follow u!" is nice and all but it makes people, me at least, feel like your just following me for what I do or how many followers I have rather than for me as a person. Saying something like "ohmygoodness! You're my idol!" for me, again, feels like you don't even want to bother to know /me/. You just like my stuff or care about my following but what about my personality, me as a person? This point is kind of opinionated but for me this stuff can just bring me down rather than build me up. I'm sorry but this kind of stuff just had to be said. I also apologize for my inability to draw humans <- All art by me in SBE
