To commemorate the League of Legends World Championship, which is currently underway, there is a new animated short called Rise to celebrate the event and it looks incredible. The premise has the pro player Ambition take on three other pros, that of Faker, Uzi and Perkz to become the champion. There is also a slew of other League of Legends references throughout the video, from weapons to teams and all sorts of other stuff, so there's a lot of love poured into this short. However, what’s amazing about this video is its animation. Put simply, it’s utterly incredible and I would love to see a series or movie done in this way. Using a clever mix of modern 3D CG and traditional 2D animation, all merged with a subtle art style that’s in line with the game, the result is something that is visually stunning. What is also especially nice about this new video, is that Riot Games actually made figures of the characters from the short and gave them to their respective players.
