Hurricane Harvey was the first of 3 major hurricane to severely affect land. Harvey caused $145 Billion in damages, making it one of the costliest Atlantic Hurricanes on record. Hurricane Irma soon followed, reaching 180mph and hitting the USVI and BVI Islands and the Bahamas in September, before moving onto to Florida. Maria killed over 3,000, mainly in Puerto Rico, making it the worst storm to hit the Island Nation in 89 years. Others like Nate and Ophelia caused more minimal damage, but were the worst storms hit the area they affected in a long time.
