edit: I think I forgot to make the thumbnail go away. So sorry about that ahhh gonna fix that now- ok its fixed I am SO sorry -------------------------------------------- Happy Pride Month!!! press space to see without background I was going to post all my pride fanarts in one project but I'm too impatient and I just want to be overenthusiastic bisexual me at 1:30am after a long day of sleeping through class and party planning and if that's not what I'm gonna do, then you're wrong OKOK SO AHH HAPPY PRIDE MONTH I LOVE LOVE LOVE BEING PART OF SUCH A WONDERFUL COMMUNITY I LOVE YOU ALL YOU'RE ALL VALID AND YOU ARE ACCEPTED AND SUPPORTED HERE <3 I was watching random tedtalks and I saw one that was asking the question of whether LGBTQ+ exists outside of humans and ahhh it does it does it does am I the only one who was completely unaware of this GUYS THERE ARE GAY DOLPHINS. AND GAY PENGUINS AT THE ZOO IN NEW YORK AND THERE'S A BOOK ABOUT THEM AND I'M GONNA GET IT SO HAPPY PRIDE MONTH TO ALL THE QUEER ANIMALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but wait can animals be homophobic? or have internalized homophobia? I feel like no because homophobia is a social construct but I may be wrong time to do research! ok art commentary though because I'm me I'm doing fanart of my favorite canon lgbtq+ couples for pride month and I absolutely had to do ruby and sapphire because they're super iconic and adorable and ahhhh I've sketched the other two that I have planned rn already but this is the only one that doesn't portray any pride flags in the art itself(I just added one in the background before I shared the project) and that's because I really wasn't sure what to do on that front? Like, I'm pretty sure I've never seen anything specifically mentioned about Garnet's(or Ruby's and Sapphire's, respectively) sexuality. It's implied that she's gay like a lot of the other gems but I personally haven't seen it mentioned specifically and I didn't want to put a label or a flag on something that doesn't have one. Just wanted to mention that. okay thanks for reading this far happy pride month wherever you are, whoever you are, know that you are loved and welcomed. -pen
