✦ Spray Paint Art Engine ✦ ___________________________________________ ✧ DOUBLE CLICK the green flag to avoid glitches! ✧ With this pen engine, you can create artworks in styles similar to that of oil painting, watercolor or glitter art ✧ Some tips for playing with this project: ✶ Draw with your mouse by dragging it or clicking it and/or holding it down in place on the screen. ✶ Try different combinations of pen size and dot density to create different “brush types”. ✶ Tweak the color sliders gradually to create subtle gradients and layering effects. ✶ If you make a mistake while drawing, you can either erase it with the eraser brush or simply paint over it (like I usually do), without having to clear the whole canvas and start all over. ✶ I include an idle/lock mode, where you can pause and look at your artwork without accidentally ruining it with one misclick, because in this mode you can’t draw or erase anything. ✧ Instructions (also in project): ⭐ Use the 3 sliders on the left to set colors. ⭐ The buttons will give you clues because they’ll change colors as you pull them! ⭐ Use the brush slider to switch between 3 modes: paint, erase, and idle/lock. ⭐ Press 0 to show/hide the sliders. ⭐ Press C to clear everything. ⭐ Press ↑ key to view a gallery of sample drawings I made using this engine. Click to go through the pictures! ⭐ Press ↑ key again to return to the canvas. ⭐ Set the mode to "Idle" and right click on the screen to take a picture of your artwork. ⭐ Do it often to save your work continuously, as one misclick (such as on the green flag) will clear the screen & make you lose everything you've drawn. ❦ Unleash the artist in you and have fun playing around with this project! ❦ ❦ Feel free to take a screenshot of your creation and share it as a remix to let other Scratchers see your masterpiece! ❦ ___________________________________________ ✦ Notes and Credits: ▹ Some time ago, my mom asked me if I could show her how Scratch works, so I started by explaining what blocks do. As I was making a small sample project to demonstrate — boom! — an idea struck me. ▹ I thought it would be interesting to create a pen spray paint engine with color selection sliders analogous to Scratch’s built-in costume editor, along with additional options for parameters such as the area and density of the spray. Albeit a simple idea, it still took me a long time to turn it into a full-fledged project, as I could only work on it intermittently due to the demands of my studies. ▹ Hope you enjoy! <33 ___________________________________________ ▹ All coding by me ▹ All art made in Inkscape, SVE and above all, this spray paint engine. I used some reference pictures while creating. ▹ Special thanks to for his helpful slider tutorial, from which I learned to custom make sliders for my own projects. ▹ Music: [Music Box Cover] Jeremy Zucker - comethru
