————————————————————————— There was a long silence on the other end before the intercom man attempted another tactic. His voice regained some sort of reserve. “A game, then. We'll let the hostages choose who gets released. We give two to you, we kill one. And if you barge in… we kill everyone.” As if on cue, the two kidnappers in the room walked around the three floors of victims’ quarters before grabbing one victim each to use as leverage, in case things went south. Not-Rudy pulled Quentin from his room, while the female kidnapper grabbed Cherie. There was some shuffling from outside, before the man with the megaphone let out a sharp yell. Whatever had happened, one of the other officers had seemed to snatch the megaphone away. “My name is Officer Driscol—I know you have my wife in there, you monster—Please, just let her go, we have two kids and we just learned that a third is on the way—She doesn’t deserve any of this—” The new police officer wailed, before the microphone was taken from his as he broke down into sobs. The megaphone turned off outside, and the officers could be seen comforting what seemed to be Officer Driscol from the gaps in the boarded windows. THey then turned to each-other, nodding and looking down at their watches. The megaphone was then turned back on, the original officer with the device spoke. “My apologies for that, he means the best… Alright, we’ll play by your rules. As long as you move everyone to the entrance of the building and un-board the windows.” They instructed. There was a short pause, before someone seemed to push someone else out of the way. The intercom man said something incoherently-threatening before the garbled, pained voice from before came over the microphone. “If we exclude Skylar Sallow from the game, we have a deal.” —————————————————————————
