[PSA] Scratch Team's Remix Rules

This isn't exactly a transcript and more or less what I based my ramble on :,) it was something I was complaining about in a server that im in Let's start with what scratch is for :clown: Scratch is a coding website!!! For children like 8 year old children. It never was and never is supposed to be an art website. The whole website is built around remix culture, to build on each other's ideas. Not to keep ur ideaz to yourself!!! You're supposed to share, as silly as it seems sometimes Secondly!!! Scratch team actually used to take good care of their artists. Like they would actually take down stolen art n crud But with newer, younger artists coming onto scratch, people get angry, and people get mad, and people get jealous let's be honest 99% OR MORE of the drama on Scratch revolves around the art community How do you get rid of drama? You get rid of the people causing it And the ST doesn't do a very good job of banning the right people, so what could be their next step? Pushing away the people causing the drama! And because the art community is the main cause of drama on scratch, who are they going to push away? The artists. It's not unintentional guys :,) they're trying to get rid of the drama on scratch in the only way that's really working, and that's making rules to make artists upset and leave Third scratch is under the creative commons license and once you post art on there its free for everyone to use, it doesn't matter if it's "illegal" or not to steal art. You have no protections on anything you post on scratch whether you posted it somewhere else before or not And literally the people who do steal art are children who don't know better (for the most part) And people will literally gang up on them, harass them, bully them, just because they took a piece of art without crediting it. And that'z not okay!! As upsetting as it is and as angry as you may feel, it is never okay to do that to someone, and if you think Scratch Team should have to let you do that because you have ur pants in a twist over it, I hate to disappoint you, but they won't TLDR: ST is most likely intentionally trying to push artists away so there is literally hardly any reason for us to be mad about their new rules :pray: whether you like it or not that's what's happening. It's not going to change okok im done Im not done UH People who are too young/parents wont let them use other sites to post their art: You're just gonna have to wait man. It doesn't matter, you post art on there other people have the right to use it. It suckz but its the way scratch is. Maybe if we didn't cause literally all the drama and harassment and bullying on scratch we'd actually be protected :,)
