Chapter 3 The three of them were talking about that very morning when Spike had said mean things about Turtle. “How rude!” Opal shouted, startling the fish around them. She said in a lower tone, “and I thought he was nice!” “Then I told him that he smelled like a blob fish's breath!” Crystal said proudly to Opal. “He was SO Shocked!” she then added, giggling. “Uhm, guys?” Turtle asked hesitantly, not wanting to sound like a baby. “He called me a stuck up puffer fish earlier….. Do you really think so?” “Of course not!” Crystal said gently, brushing his tail with hers. That made Turtle's heart flutter. “Spike is just a rock headed, too good for the rest of us idiot who didn't know what he was talking about!” That made Turtle feel much better, and they continued laughing about Spike when suddenly their principal burst in. Everyone looked up to the carved coral balcony where Professor Pearl was. “Students,” she addressed, “I would like to make a quick announcement. There will be a new student! She enrolled a little late, and she will be joining Mrs Coral's class, please treat her with kindness and respect.” Everyone ooooohed and aaaaaahed. “That's our class,” Crystal murmured, “What do you think she will be like?” Chapter 4 Mrs. Coral turned out to be a bright, colorful parrot fish. After she introduced herself, she said, “Violet, you can come in now!” A tiny purple head peeked out from the seashell doorway. “It's okay,” Mrs. Coral said soothingly, “don't be shy,” The purple headed student emerged from the doorway, and everyone gasped. She was a squid! The name Violet suited her, for she was that very color! “Everyone, meet Violet Ink, daughter of Miss Fuchsia Ink.” Mrs. Coral said. “Your mother is a very good author!” she then added. “Thank you!” Violet said, beaming. “WAIT!” Crystal said, “ YOU THE MEAN MISS FUCHSIA INK?!?!?!?! THE ONE AND ONLY SQUID AUTHOR?!?!?!?!” Crystal exclaimed. “Yes, Crystal, the Inks moved here last week and Violet is now going to be attending the school.” Turtle and Crystal looked at each other with excitement. Violet beamed again. “Mrs. Coral…... can I sit next to….. errr….” she trailed off. “I'm Crystal, he’s Turtle! We are a HUGE FAN of your family.” Violet quickly swam over to their table, and put her satchel down when Turtle said ,“I've never seen a satchel with that texture before! Where did you get it?” Violet explained that her grandmother (Grandma Lavender) grew a garden of many plants, and when she heard that the family would be moving, she wanted to stay, but took three unique plants and made things from them to give to them. Her satchel was made from a woven sea fan. “That's SO AWESOME !!!!!!” Crystal exclaimed for the second time. Mrs. Coral had waited patiently for them to be done, and once they were, she continued “With the Inks moving here and Violet attending the school, Mrs. Fuchsia Ink has agreed to read one of her classics to us.” Mrs. Coral said, “I expect you to be on your best behavior!” “I'M SO GETTING MY COPY OF THE ADVENTURES OF CORALBERRY FIN SIGNED!!!!!!!!!” Crystal whisper-screamed to Violet and Turtle. “You're not the only one,” Turtle said smiling. “Class dismissed! Go home and tell your parents! I'm sure they'd love to volunteer in welcoming our visitor!! She is coming on Wednesday!!” All the students started filing out of the room. “Remember!!! Be on your BEST BEHAVIOR!!!!!!! SHE IS COMING ON WEDNESDAY!!!”
