Q: How do I obtain a Sweet Catton? A: There are several ways to obtain a Catton. You may offer art, CC (coral coins), or even occasional DA points on an OTA. We may host DTAs, where you draw the character you wish to own in order to apply for the character. Sometimes we will host MYOs so that people have the opportunity to design their own. And we may even accept custom orders. However, a custom order is rare, and we will not take one unless the price suits us. You might even earn one as a prize for a game or a seasonal activity. Q: Can I make my own Catton? A: In short answer, no. Making your own Catton is prohibited unless during a MYO or given explicit permission from Maple, Altan, or Mochi. If permission is granted, you must present a screenshot with proof of the conversation. If no proof is shown, we will unfortunately have to deny your Catton from the species. This will also result in a 1 month ban from the species and all events at that time. If a MYO does come up after this, you might have the opportunity to still keep your Catton. Q: Can I breed my Catton? A: Yes! Catton breeding is an available option, and a wonderful chance to gain more Sweet Cattons! If you wish for your Catton to be bred, there are certain requirements- The Catton you wish to breed MUST find a willing partner, whether this is through a randomized father (if yours is female) or another Covian. Both Cattons and their owners MUST be consenting! Remember- males only breed with one female and females usually move on! Your Catton MUST be over the age of 3! Before that, they are still considered a chip! Optimal age is between 4 and 6. Once you have met these requirements, there are a few more things to keep in mind. Most Catton relationships last for about 6 months. The female will stay long enough to bake batter and bond with her partner, and then leave after the chips are 1 month old. She will spend much of the chips' first month away from home, gathering materials for their food holders. Have you met all the requirements? Good. Now you'll want to know how to get Cattons. You will pay a certain amount of art or CC to the designer you wish to have. (Maple, Altan, or Mochi) After you've explained the Cattons who wish to be bred, you have an option to leave and let the designers work, or to request a specific number of offspring. This will cost more, as we usually just generate a number from 1-4. If you chose a custom amount of chips, you MUST pay an extra amount for every chip over 1. The price will go up every single chip higher than 4. (like this- chip 1= 1, chip 2= 2 chip 3 = 3 chip 4 = 4. Chip 5 = 9 chip 6 = 14) and so on. The price continued to increase, instead of staying at a set ratio. A note- if the designer you want is busy or cannot take your request, you may pick a different designer or wait until later. Q: How do I get Coral Coins? A: You start with 10 CC. The other coins can be gifted from the admins for anything. Good behavior and helping manage more crowded parts of the world are some. You can also be awarded CC for drawing your Catton, and not just once. If you keep adding to their gallery, we'll keep adding to your bank account! Simple as that. There will also be large CC prizes for contests and seasonal events! These are more than the 1 or 2 CC you'd get from drawing. These ones can be 100, 500, pretty much any number that offers a large and immediate payoff. Your fellow Covians can also give you Coral Coins! When this is done, the CC transfers out of their bank account and into yours. If there is an exchange going on, PLEASE alert one of the admins so we can update your bank account! If Covians exchange CC, it is usually for something related to the species, such as commissioning artwork of their Catton or purchasing somebody's extra chips. Q: How many times can I breed my female? A: You may breed any Catton up to 5 times. There is a 2 month cooldown before you are able to breed again, and while she is being bred, she is unable to participate in festivals and activities. After a Catton has been bred 5 times, they are unable to be bred again. This is because, at that point, they are running low on food. However a Catton with a balloon tail (which constantly regenerates food) may be bred up to 7 times. Q: What about non-binary Cattons? Can I breed them? A: Yes! Cattons do not Reproduce sexually, so as long as they have food and a consenting partner, go for it! In relationships with one non-binary parent, they may choose who's role to fill. If there is a male - non-binary relationship, the non-binary Catton will either choose the role of a Mother, leaving to breed again, or they may become a second parent in their chip's lives! Q: Do gays and lesbians work? Yes! Again, they'll do similar to the previous answer, however, if a Catton has a gay or lesbian relationship, both parents usually stay, as the bond between parents is often stronger and more tender.
