My essential question was: how can I transfer a survival situation into a technology based simulator? While I was doing this project, I learned that royal blue is a better color than neon orange if you want to be spotted by rescuers. I also learned that the first thing to take care of in a survival situation is first aid, then shelter, then water, then fire, then food. I challenged myself because the simulator had a really humongous script and it was hard to keep track of all the data. I used a control sprite to control all of the data and variables. This was the first time I've ever done that. Also I learned that you don't only need a survival kit to survive. You also need knowledge of survival and a will to live. Without any knowledge you wouldn't make the right decisions. If you were extra thirsty and you drank water without purifying it first, you might get giardia or cryptosporidium. Things that affect your will to live are other people in your group dying, the thought that you'll never get rescued and also extreme discomfort because of fatigue, cold, wet, sickness and injury.
