Yayyyy! Chapter is out! CHAP 12: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/608155228/ If you can't read it: No. No! NO! Keefe hadn't been there when Fintan almost burned down Eternalia, and he was glad he hadn't. Fire licked the walls and trashed around like wild animals, refusing to die down. But that didn't matter- Sophie did. Her face was twisted with an expression he never wanted to see on her face again and her eyebrows knit together. But the worst part was that she was still in the Neverseens' minds. "Sophie! SOPHIE! COME OUT!" he screamed shaking her shoulders. He looked at Fitz for help, but his eyes were glazed and he looked around at the flames, unmoving as though harsh memories were returning. "SOPHIE!!" he shouted again, trying not to lose it, but it was hard when everyone around him was screaming and flailing, a few people had light-leaped out of the burning tower and so had the Councillors- though he thought he saw Councillor Oralie with a flaming hand as the Councillors light-leaped her away. Keefe knew that there was something between Sophie and Oralie, their emotions said it all- but there was no time to solve that mystery. The only people left in the now crumbling building were Keefe, his father, Sophie, Fitz, Alden, and the Black Swan. The Black Swan held up a pathfinder and beckoned them to follow, but he couldn't leave Sophie here- her mind still wrapped around the Neverseens'. He sent a blast of "blue" as Sophie described it, and suddenly Sophie gasped, tightening her hold on his hand. "Keefe! T-the Neverseen! Obliv-" she gasped. "Sophie- it's fine, I'm here!" he whispered as she began crying. "Is it?" a voice asked. Kneeling against a wall that was almost nothing but ashes a dozen cloaked figure stood each holding a melder. Keefe tried to concentrate on the Neverseens' weakness but they showed no sign of it- anyhow it was hard to concentrate in the sweltering heat and the harsh flames that were crawling up everywhere, inches away from them. The flames! THE FLAMES!! Keefe's mind celebrated as he made up a risky plan in his mind. It was a long shot. A VERY long shot. Keefe tried to look around for flammable materials but saw none- Ugh, stupid Councillors and their paranoid selves! Oh wait, Everblaze can burn through anything, dumbo. he reminded himself. Spotting a few upturned chairs, he ran over to them and started throwing them in the flames, causing them to rise higher and higher- and more dangerously. "Ahhh!" a member of the Neverseen shrieked as flames enfolded her. "Sophie-" Keefe said. "Go. Now. You're the moonlark- you're important in this world- I-I . . . I'm not. And-" He looked right into Sophie's bug beautiful brown eyes, "I love you, and I always will- but I think this is a . . . a . . . good-bye." Sophie's eyes seemed to water but she snorted, "As if," she said, "you're important to me, and we're getting out of here- together. Like it or not." "Everyone! HANG ON!" she shouted, and they barely had time to cling to each other and Sophie propelled the toward an empty hole in the wall. Keefe looked back, only having a second to see the unconscious form of his mother- engulfed in bright yellow flames. They free fell down to burned grass and Keefe could swear that he heard Sophie whisper, "By the way- I love you too," in his ear. * * * "So, what do you think?" Keefe asked Sophie as they sat down under the shade of Calla's Panakes tree. Sophie had teleported everyone to Havenfield and dragged him over to the Panakes. "What do you mean?" Sophie asked, watching everyone get treated by Elwin at Havenfield's pastures, Verdi staring down at them curiously. "Do you think the Neverseen who ambushed us- were they all of the Neverseen? And they all must have died- so did we do it? Did we defeat them," Sophie scooted closer to him, "I-I don't know, but it seems like a long shot, the Neverseen are too smart and that would be too easy ... But we have a break now- the Neverseen won't plan another sabotage that quickly." "Yeah," Keefe said, staring off into the distance. "I'm sorry," Sophie said. "About your mom." Continued below
Continued: "I- It's fine, I mean she was the bad guy anyway," Keefe said, hiding his tears. "Yeah but she was your mom- I understand." A traitorous tear slid down his face and he pressed his check to Sophie shoulder, Wynn and Luna rushed over to them and faced belly-up, demanding for a rub. It was just like how Keefe imagined it to be, and he loved that moment there, but most importantly, he loved Sophie by his side. He wished the moment would have lasted longer but Elwin ran over to them, his face red. "Keefe, we need you." he said. Keefe looked at Sophie and she held his hand. Elwin directed them to a bed situated outside Havenfield, and Keefe's heart felt like leaping out of it's cage. There lying on the bed was an unconscious, badly injured, charred form- Keefe's father. Lord Cassius. Haha The End For now . . . CHAP 12: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/608155228/
