Chapter 4 -- Aubree Sencen It was the end of the school day, and Hunter walked up to Aubree and Valerie on their way outside to leap home. “Did you guys see the new mentor for Vanishers?” Hunter asked them, pulling his leaping crystal out. “She’s…. Pretty crazy.” he said quietly. “What’s her name?” Aubree asked him. “Lady Jane,” he replied, stopping through the light of his crystal. Aubree and Valerie looked at each other, bewildered. “Who in the world is Lady Jane, and what is wrong with her?” Valerie asked, pulling Aubree into the light of their leaping crystal, letting the light pull them home. Chapter 5 -- Valerie Sencen The party at Ruewens’ house was fabulous. Lights were strung overhead, and lanterns were stationed around the floor. Their grand staircase was covered in snowflake garlands for Christmas. Tiny flakes of snow flickered down from the ceiling, fizzling out before they could reach the floor. Valerie had rushed over when she saw the time. She scolded herself silently in her head for taking too long putting on makeup. ‘It’s not like Mallory wanted to go with me, she just said see you there,’ she thought. Valerie’s snow white dress had silver pearls speckled around the long, tulle skirt. It swished and swirled every step Valerie took, making it look like a snow storm. Edaline rushed up to her, hugging Valerie fiercely. “You look so pretty,” Edaline said, pulling away from her and holding her at arm's length, studying the dress. “How are you?” “Thank you,” Valerie replied, smiling. “I’m doing great! The decorations,” she spun around, eyeing the beautifulness of the room. “They’re amazing.” Edaline blushed. “I’m glad you like them,” she said. They heard a small knock at the door, and Edaline rushed over to answer it. And a crowd of lively people were at the party. --Sneak Peak-- Chapter 6 -- Mallory Kane Mallory had always loved dances. She loved the decorations, the music, the lights, the scenery, and, of course, the dancing. And Mallory exceptionally loved the Ruewens’ parties. They were always extravagant and beautiful, always never failing to surprise her. It was always so magical, and the decorations were always so charming, that Mallory could never turn down the opportunity to go to the Ruenwen’s lively parties. Especially when she knew Valerie was going to be there… (A/N: Special thanks to for helping write this!)
