WHY THE HLL DID I WRITE THIS?! Anyways... Gale sat on the pier watching the sunset. Tomorrow... who knows. Next week... college. 'How weird,' she thought, 'that I don't know something happening to me soon. But I suppose everybody knows they eventually die...' She pushed it away. She would not die soon unless someone randomly came up and 'AVADAKEDARVRA'ed her. And the chance of that was 0%. Why was she even thinking this? No wonder nobody got her, thinking about death all the time. Gale had long black hair, green eyes and freckles, although why everyone wanted them she had no idea. "Hi." said a voice. "Is this spot taken?" Gale started. "No..." A boy sat next to her. He had brown hair and grey eyes. "Isn't it weird how you might know what comes after something you don't know? Like death- except if someone comes up to you and says 'avadakedarvra' then you won't be expecting death." he said. She almost cried. "You don't know how pleased I am to hear someone say that." "I'm Cody. You?" "G-Gale." They both went silent for a while. "Awkward turtle..." they both said, and laughed. *** THREE DAYS LATER Ever since Gale had seen Cody, she had much more confidence. Her moods were brighter, she was doing better at school, and it probably helped to have someone to share with. They met up regularly. "Do you want to... go on a date?" Cody asked once while they were eating lunch as "friends". Gale almost choked. "What?" "Oh. I just- never mind." "No, Cody- yes." "Really?" Gale nodded. "Okay." She finished her lunch. "See ya tomorrow." *** 4th day Their first date: a walk. In the woods. Gale really enjoyed it, and Cody did too. They had a nice dinner in a little clearing. Gale had pointed out her favourite constellations. And they had one, really nice, short kiss. Gale was in heaven. She loved it. Cody was too. On Gale's way home, she felt amazing. She was never better. "So, Gale, how did it go?" her mum asked, holding Gale's shoulders. "I had so much fun. Thanks mum." Her mum laughed. "Nice to see you happier..." Both their eyes wandered to the cracked photo of dad, smiling and holding Gale, mum's and Liana's hands. He had died from a car accident. Liana had died because of cancer. Now mum and Gale needed to look out for each other even more. "Goodnight." they said, and Gale went to sleep. *** Day 6 Date no. 3 "Cody, I have college tomorrow." Cody almost choked now. "Why didn't you tell me before?" "Because I was having so much fun..." "I was too. Gale, I'll miss you. Where are you going?" "Cambridge." Gale muttered. Cody's eyes lit up. "What?" Gale asked. "Nothing. I won't miss you, Gale." "God, you're rude." *** Day 7 Gale left Cody with no regrets. She hated him for saying that. She thought he'd understand. But he didn't. She sat down on the fountain at sunset and stared into the water. "Hi." said a voice. "Is this seat taken." She looked up. "Cody!" "Gale- I go to Cambridge. I won't miss you." He sat down. And the nicest kiss they ever had... ... happened here. At sunset.
