Scratch Writing camp, also known as SWC, is a triannual Scratch event that happens in July, November, and March. It was created by @CandyLanguageGirl, which is currently being hosted by @Bellevue91 and @-Alocasia, and co-hosted by @PerfectlyPinkPanda, @-ChocoLoco-, @whiteandblackcat and @honeybreeze. Without further ado, here are four reasons why you should join SWC (as a backup camper): 1. SWC is a really great experience, and can help cure summer boredom! While being on the computer during the summer is not great, you can participate in SWC with minimal screen time, as you can handwrite (though it is harder to count words this way). 2. SWC helps motivate you to write more, which is awesome. You can write in any genre and still help your team (read: cabin), and it gets you into the camp spirit, which is something many people will, unfortunately, be missing out on this year due to COVID-19. You are also given activities, which further help motivate you. 3. Participating in SWC can help you find people with similar interests to you online! While people online are no substitute for actual human friends, it's easy to bond with people who have similar interests as you, and SWC is a breeding ground for that, as you can find many different writers with all sorts of interests. 4. SWC is extremely flexible, so you can join and not be online very much, or you can be online a lot. Either is fine, but you should try to follow the requirements your leader has asked for you to follow, and complete some dailies, as well as add your words before exceeding the word cap (10k, you can not add more than 10,000 words at once). So yeah! I hope this gave you an idea as to why you should join. I'd recommend joining Real-Fi, which is the cabin I'm co-leading with @starbriqht and . To do that, comment any one, or all of, our usernames in the correct part of your signup on this project: It'll be very fun if you join, so I'd recommend doing so! I had a very good idea for this promotion, but it ended up taking too long. Perhaps it'll be done by next session! XD
