Koi Pond ✿⊰Changelog⊱✿ Changes to the game will be posted here! The original game, "Koi Pond", can be found here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/470344468/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ▶ 6/29/21: Spacebar and arrow keys no longer do anything while the game is being played, so you can't accidentally open up the help menu and ruin the gameplay. Thanks to @Julxnai for catching this! ▶ 6/29/21: If the start rock was repeatedly clicked as it faded out to start the game, it would spawn in a bunch of rocks and lily pads. This is no longer the case, they should still spawn normally now. Thanks to @Schnagli and @piapy for noticing this! ▶ 6/29/21: Fish will now no longer spawn in the first three seconds after the game starts, to give players enough time to get ready and to prevent them from getting eaten right away. Thanks to @KittyKats007 for the suggestion! ▶ 6/29/21: Big fish will now willingly leave the pond if they remain for too long and are still bigger than the player. This should help with the issue of there being too many big fish the longer the game runs. Credit to @Warrior_Dragons_2020 and @there_is_only_one for inspiration! ▶ 6/29/21: The viewing area will now increase as your koi gets bigger, to make it more proportionate and to make it easier to see as you get bigger. Credit to @BUTTER_KNIFE for the idea! ▶ 6/30/21: I increased the viewing area a bit, as several people said it was too small. ▶ 6/30/21: As many people have asked, you can now choose which koi you play as! Click the third rock and click the arrows to select which koi you want to be, or select "Random" to get a random koi each time! ▶ 6/30/21: You can now hit the 'm' key to mute or unmute the music! Credit to for the idea! ▶ 7/2/21: Added visualization for the "mute" feature. ▶ 7/2/21: A koi pond needs more than one koi, right? Now, other koi fish will spawn in the pond! These koi are completely harmless to the player, but can eat or be eaten by the other fish in the pond. To distinguish them from the player, they are a bit lighter than the player, but they are more colorful than the other plain-colored fish. Thanks to and for inspiration! Let me know if this feature makes the game too confusing, I'm worried that with all the fish spawning it can be hard to know what's going on. ▶ 7/2/21: Added a "Dash" feature! Click and hold to move quickly to escape or catch other fish. Thanks to , , and @ proprogrammer132 for the idea! ▶ 7/2/21: Added a third page to the instructions and changed them a little bit. The dash and mute features are explained here, and an explanation about the other koi in the pond has been added. ▶ 7/2/21: Created this changelog project because the description of the original project was too long. ▶ 7/2/21: noticed a bug that appeared after I added the dash feature that allowed players to get too many points from each fish. This has been fixed, and I reset the World Best to the score it was at before this glitch happened. ▶ 7/2/21: After playing a few rounds, the player could spawn with two koi, which would double the amount of points gained. and noticed this, and it should be fixed. I reset the World Best because high scores were achieved using this glitch. ▶ 7/6/21: An "Exit" button has been added to replace pressing the spacebar to close the "Change Koi" and "How to Play" menus. Hopefully this helps anyone who wanted the game to be mobile-friendly. ▶ 7/6/21: Changed the gray food fish's color from dark gray to brown to help distinguish them from the hajiro koi, which are also dark gray and have white stripes that can sometimes be hard to see. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ✿⊰Thanks for Reading!⊱✿
