Hello there. My name is the Hunger Games. I take place in a dystopia far in the future. Oh, sure, the dystopia works, in theory, but it leaves some miserable and starving and some disgustingly rich. The nation (Panem) has been divided into 12 Districts (1 the richest, 12 the poorest, go figure). Then there's the Capitol. This is basically where all the crazy rich frivolous people live. They don't have a care in the world. And there's also President Snow, who makes every District send one male and one female off to the Hunger Games every year. The Hunger Games are basically just throwing 24 people into an arena to battle to their death. The Games go on until all but one person dies. So when Katniss Everdeen has the choice of going herself or sacrificing her sister to the Games, well, she picks the former. And the spark of rebellion is struck. I recommend this book for people who are okay with a bit of violence (but not that much gore), mature, and overall people who want a thrilling action novel. Oh, and no one under 9! The characters are Katniss (yes, that's Jennifer Lawrence in the movie), a soft-hearted girl who wears a hard shell so she never gets too emotional, Gale, who is a hunter and a wild one at heart and has somehow managed to penetrate Katniss's hard armor and befriend her (and may or may not have fallen in love with her in the process), and Peeta, a clever but peaceful boy who can spin out a witty comeback in an instant but can't shoot a deer from ten feet away. Then there's Prim, Katniss's little sister, who is soft, sensitive, and breakable. Fall in love with all these characters and more in The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. -The Hunger Games
Thanks to Suzanne Collins for the book itself. I think I spent more time on the thumbnail than on the review itself :P Thanks to @ScratchGamer5029 for the suggestion!
