Mk now for my opinion :) Its very good writing, and I'll go into why its so good in a bit! Here's some questions to help roughen out some details in the coming chapters though :) 1. Is the species hurt by being around the smallest flame? Or was it a giant explosion that sent flames hurtling through the planet? 3. Possibly explain how the species could push against gravity so hard that portals could open. Space has very little gravity, gravity is mostly centered around the atmosphere, so maybe its an ability of the species? Just they dont know where they'll end up. Some were killed before they could open portals, so only a fraction escaped, Amethyst being one of them. 4. What's the difference between a planet and a realm? Is a realm a collection of planets grouped together? 5. Is the reason that they've never know fire due to the fact that they have no sun, but generate heat from a special source? 6. (for later in the species) If they can shapeshift, will you show how these species can be vaguely recognized by say, a marking only known by that species? So if Amethyst is looking for members of her species in other realms and timelines, will she notice them after some looking by the mark? Why this prologue is so pog: I really like how you set it up with a dramatic start, almost as if it was being spoken in some dramatic part of a documentary. Its very intriguing to begin with, and doesn't use very hard words. Its not the most specific, but this is completely normal for a prologue, and not at all a mistake :) It gives it a nice cryptic-ness that will be nice to see fold out in the ongoing chapters. Possibly in Amethyst's point of view as she recounts what happened? Anyways, I really like how you explain why the destruction is happening, and what they're doing to escape. It also gives Amethyst a unique aspect to her character with her being the only one without making her overpowered. Anyways, this is a great story so far, and I'd be happy to give opinions going forward and seeing how this unfolds <3
