His mother wore a golden tailband, and had long, straight horns. She was the one who taught Skull to fight, to use his individual skills to overpower opponents. His father was the one who taught him hunt and to be stealthy; to walk on silent talons while he approached prey. His horns were long and twisted, and Skull and his brother loved climbing on them when they were both very small. Skull's uncle was older and quieter, with sharp eyes and scales, and short stubby horns. He told them stories occasionally, ones that Skull and his brother loved to listen to. He often came and went from the cave, but neither Skull nor his brother had any idea what he did away from home. Skull's brother, Cove, liked to guess, though none of his guesses were ever very accurate. As they grew older, however, their uncle grew more and more distant, and sometimes their parents would argue with him, after which he left the cave and didn't return until days later. They all lived near the coast, and Skull loved flying around the many land formations, exploring and finding secret caves and hiding places. His favorite thing to do was play hide-n-seek with his brother. One day, however, after a particularly bad fight the previous day, his uncle left in the early morning and didn't return until very late. Skull had been secretly awake, reading with Cove, and knew he would get in trouble if his uncle saw. He pulled his brother into a secret alcove that no one else in the family knew about. There they waited, hoping their uncle would go to sleep. However, soon he returned, dragging two bodies, and leaving the cave with them. Horrified and shaken, Skull refused to leave his hiding place with his brother until a few days later. When they finally deemed it safe, they found neither their parents or their uncle anywhere near the house. Skull and Cove packed up their belongings and fled into the mountains. A year later, Skull snuck back to the house alone, trying to figure out what had happened all that time ago. He had told Cove to stay back at their temporary camp, and his brother had huffed disappointedly but grudgingly agreed to stay. When Skull arrived at their old home, he found the boulder functioning as a door to be shut. Last time he had been there it had been open. Was someone else living there now? Before he could make up his mind about whether to go in or not, the huge rock rolled aside and his uncle glared down at him. He was wearing a skull on his head, one with long, twisted horns, and he had a golden band wrapped around his tail. Recognizing where they had came from, Skull suddenly knew what had happened. He lunged at his uncle, who easily overpowered him, throwing him to the side. But then Cove was there, grabbing onto his uncle's back like a flea. Skull was first angry, then grateful that his brother had not listened to him and followed anyways. Together, they circled their uncle, and though they were smaller, he could not take them both down at once. Skull used his mother's fighting techniques, dancing around him to dodge attacks before eventually stabbing his venomous tail into his uncle's chest. He collapsed. Silence descended on the two brothers, who stared at their uncle's body for what felt like an eternity. Skull and Cove never returned to that cave. They eventually made their way across the continent until they found a city, where they settled. They didn't have much trouble in their new place, especially since Skull now wore a creepy skull on his head, one with short stubby horns, that terrified anyone who tried to take advantage of the two young dragons. okie I think thats all hope you enjoyed :)
