Rainkit opened her eyes to the songs of the birds, she was 6 moons today, like her sister, Amberkit and her brother, Jaykit. Jaykit wasn't moving, Amberkit was snoring near Birdkit and Rainkit's mother, Featherstorm was sleeping near the back of the den. Rainkit got up and waddled over to Jaykit. "Jaykit?" She asked, nudging him. Jaykit didn't breathe nor speak, his body was cold, colder than outside of the nursery. Featherstorm yawned and opened her eyes. "Rainkit?" Featherstorm asked. "Jaykit's cold, freezing cold!" Rainkit meowed, nudging Jaykit again. Featherstorm's eyes clouded with worry and she immedaitely ran over to Jaykit. "He's dead. Why take him from me after Moonheart? Why Starclan?" Featherstorm yowled. MothStar ran into the nursery. "What's wrong?" He asked. "Jaykit's dead." Featherstorm murmured, her nose in her kits fur. "Are the other kits okay?" He asked. "Everyone else is okay, Jaykit is the only one who wasn't breathing." Rainkit replied. "Who found him?" MothStar asked. "Rainkit found him, she was nudging him, she told me he was cold, freezing cold in fact." Featherstorm replied. "Dawnsky! Check Jaykit's corpse, he may have a desease or something." Mothstar called. Dawnsky rushed over, her fur unkept. "What happened?" Dawnsky asked. "Rainkit found him not breathing when she woke up, said he was freezing." Mothstar explained. Dawnsky checked Jaykit, within moments she pulled back. "He's been infected! Bury the body immediately! If anyone else gets the infection Waveclan is done for!" Dawnsky yowled. "Hawkheart, Rosepetal, bury Jaykit. No time for sharing tounges today." Mothstar ordered. "Don't take him from me!" Featherstorm yowled, swiping Hawkheart's muzzle. Hawkheart's eye was slashed and she couldn't see through the blood. "What is wrong with you Featherstorm?" Mothstar yowled while Rosepetal dragged her mate out of the den to Dawnsky's den. "Its her fault! She's cursed!" Featherstorm yelled, running at Rainkit and raising her claws to slash open Rainkit's stomach. "Mom?" Rainkit asked, looking at Featherstorm with fear.
