~~~ Chapter 22 : Maze Of Ways Meanwhile Meg noticed a few minutes later that Lightning wasn’t behind her. “ hm........ wonder where she went...... eh..... probably went to practice for her performance. “ Meg thought to herself. Turning around, she saw her date waving to her with a smile. Smiling as well, Meg walked up to him, forgetting about her concerns for Lightning the Hedgehog. “ I can’t believe Myla’s sister went after me like that...... Crystal........ugh...... stupid bad guys...... ruin everything....... “ Light thought while walking through the somewhat damp cave tunnels. One of the walls that Lightning approached in the cave had a strange glow to it. It’s light somehow attracted Lightning towards it unconsciously. “ It’s over, Lightning........ you’ve met your match...... just accept that my daughters outsmarted you....... and Ace is not yours....... ever......... to have....... “ a male voice echoed through the caves. “ Who said that?! Daughters?! “ Lightning said, very confused and somewhat worried. “ Who am I?....... well....... you’ll find out eventually....... but as of right now...... it’s not really a good timeee...... “ the voice spoke back. “ SHOW YOURSELF! “ Lightning yelled, baring her teeth. “ Do you understand English?........ I said “ now is not a good time. “ ...... you really are highly annoying as Crystal and Myla pointed out...... “ the man said. Lightning growled, looking all around her for the person speaking to her, but saw nothing in sight. Confused and feeling stressed, Lightning ran away down one of the tunnels. “ I need to find my way through- “ Lightning thought to herself while hearing the echoes of the male voice cackling. It was like he was everywhere........ never to escape the sound of his voice. At some point after running for a bit, she entered a room with tunnel entrances on every wall. From the floor to the ceiling was another path to possibly choose from. Which one was the right one to go down? “ I-I........ which wayyyyy ehhhhhh.....? “ Lightning thought in panic. The echoes of cackling got louder and louder, Lightning’s ears flopped down and she gripped her head..... trying not to listen to the voice. Just then, a spark appeared in Lightning’s brain. “ Lightning........ wake up........ it’s just a thought........ snap out of it.......” a familiar voice called. “ h-huh?......... who’s there?........ “ Lightning asked while looking up and opening her eyes back up. When her eyes were open and she looked around, the caves were gone and all around her was a black room. In the distance from her was a image of Ace the Hedgehog. It was see-through though and not really Ace. Yet Lightning couldn’t tell from so far away. “ A-Ace?........ what...... when.......... what are you...... d-doing here?...... “ Lightning asked, walking up to him. The Ace standing in front of her didn’t respond to her, almost like it was just an image to deliver a message. The Ace spoke, “ You can get through this, Light...... I believe in you............ listen to your heart........ let me be your guide through these tunnels........ take my hand, Princess.......... “ . “ .......... A-Ace?...... “ Lightning said looking confused. “ Just follow my voice....... and you’ll find your way back to me...... “ the Ace spoke. A few moments later Lightning realized she was still in the cave, but the evil man’s voice was gone. A small light was floating in front of Lightning and it went down one of the tunnels. “ Follow my heart....... “ Lightning thought to herself, choosing the path that the light floated down then running through that specific tunnel. “ I still wanna know what the heck just happened........ eh- I need to focus on getting back to the gala right now..........
