Notice: Unfortunately, this project is NOT mobile-friendly. Sorry about that. Double Notice: This project has so many clones that it may not even run on your device ― thankfully that shouldn't ever be a problem if you run it on either Forkphorus or Turbowarp (both made by @GarboMuffin)! https://forkphorus.github.io/#558931030 https://turbowarp.org/558931030 Actual Instructions: ⟶ Press START to start the project after the short intro. Once the project has started... ⟶ Click to clone. The dots will permanently follow your mouse-pointer. Wherever you click, a single dot will clone (unless you click multiple times). ⟶ Press W for woodwind, B for brass, C for color guard, D for drum line, and M for drum major. ⟶ Press any arrow key to run through the four ready-made sets with music. ⟶ Press space to clear all clones at any given time. I'm currently trying to program a functionality in which you will be able to enter a custom coordinate to clone, but this may end up permanently unfinished. Questions? Comment down below!
Since I actually have field show camp this week in marching band, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to come up with a functioning project for the Scratch Camp Week 2 theme "Movement!" This project is mostly a set-designer ~ in a field show, there are a variety of 50+ sets. Each set is a different formation for each member of the marching band, and to move from one set to another, each person has an allotted amount of time (etc. 8 beats, 16 beats, 24 beats). Though there's much more to field show than just the sets, this project is a fun way to represent a very basic field show with all different components of the band itself. This is also my first year of doing marching band, so I am nowhere near being considered an expert with field show, but I would like to share whatever knowledge I already possess on Scratch in the form of this project. Made with clones, this project contains 4 ready-made sets for the song "The Final Countdown" and a ready build-your-own set. The five different colors represent the five different main sections of most marching bands. Light Blue - Woodwinds Light Green - Brass Pink - Color Guard Brown - Drum Line Red - Drum Majors Here's some more information on the different sections of the band. Woodwinds - Instruments such as the flute, clarinet, and saxophone. Brass - Instruments such as the trumpet, euphonium, mellophone, trombone, and tuba. Color Guard - A group of people who dance a choreographed routine with props such as flags. Drum Line - The percussion, including instruments in the front line. For example, bass drum, snare drum, synth, drum set, and xylophone. Drum Major - Most marching bands are student-led with a drum major in charge of conducting the band. They carry their own baton and typically have a whistle. No problem! Feel free to remix and experiment with the cloning system (use the scripts in the sprite "Code" as reference and make sure to change the timings)! If you're successfully able to create one (or even multiple) new sets, share the link with me! I'd love to see them! [Keep in mind when watching the sets there's around a 20 second wait time between each of them, so it will work.] Anyway, I've really enjoyed sharing my knowledge with you and I really hope you enjoyed this project. In my opinion, this is a very cool concept and I'd love to see any remixes that are made based on it. Thanks a lot for viewing this!
