Can you guess the story behind each of the five sections? <><><><><> Isles ---A Riddle <><><><><> I.) Through ev'ry chasm And over the brink- Cross every moun-tain-scape Painting in ink. Pitch is the blackness that Drenches the scene Swallowed in darkness Their voices did ring; "Hither, long lost Child of the flood! Drenched all in shadow Awakened in blood- Hither, you famed Child of the seas! Return to the ocean And follow the breeze. Hither, wrathful one Prove now your worth; But never return to the isle of your birth." II.) Cursed in the sunlight The peak of the skies Where earth once met ether Is where a beast lies. Let day become night, The setting sun rise Reborn in its shadow The dying beast cries; "Hither, long lost Child of the sun! Let no shade misguide you Your day has begun. Hither, you famed Child of the mind! That no harm may come to you, Leave all behind. Hither, woeful one Seek out your truth; Life shall await you on the isle Of your youth." III.) Under a grey sky Of smog and disease With distrust comes anarchy Never to cease. Time outgrows legends So new heroes rise Disgrace the deserter, Parade his demise; "Hither, long lost Child of the dust! Escaping fate bitterly Do what you must. Hither, you famed Child of the past! Take once your sorrows, Renew them at last. Hither, willful one Dye red your breath; Flee from your duties on the isle Of your death." IV.) Seized by the future Another to claim Scorned by potential And left without name, Shed your old covers Unfold a new page Scorn the forgotten Construct a new cage; "Hither, long lost Child of the crown! Blue as your blood runs Your heart can still drown. Hither, you famed Child of the quill! Give unto novelty Do as you will. Hither, wistful one Silent, you part; Forever, you turn from the isle Of your heart." V.) Beyond the surface And coated in lies, Vibrantly darkened To craft a new guise. Hypocrisy rife, Disbalance the scales. Honest is agony When false never fails; "Hither, long lost Child of the pained! Free of their scrutiny Free of your reins. Hither, you famed Child of the blithe! Vile is the shell when The pearl shall suffice. Hither, wrongful one Wrought white by hate; Now you shall venture to the isle Of your fate." VI.) So hither, the many Be free of strife; For much should befall you on the isles Of your life.
