hey! I’m working on a map part right now so I thought I would post a small project as filler (also because I want to talk about d&d). this is my current d&d character, mara! the first drawing I did, the second shows the (not completely accurate) model I made on HeroForge basic info - race - dragonborn class - bard strength- 15 dexterity- 14 constitution- 9 intelligence- 13 wisdom - 9 charisma - 17 alignment - Chaotic Good approximate age if she was human - 22 personality - mara is a dragonborn bard (a magic user whose magic comes from music). she loves attention and preforming. her main goal is to be a classic fairytale hero and have her own epic story. this makes her brave, but can lead to her being impulsive and always wanting to be in the center of the battle. she tends to be optimistic and upbeat for two reasons - 1) near the beginning, the whole concept of the adventure is exciting for her as it feels she is finally going to be a hero. 2) in her mind, heroes are ALWAYS brave and confident and don’t show any negative emotion. (this is..not a good mindset.. and will hopefully lead to some character development later). I make most of her decisions based off what will make her feel the most heroic and how much attention she will get. my goal for her character development is for her to learn to make smarter choices and that not all heroes are always in the spotlight, as well as having her learn to express her negative emotions backstory - mara was abandoned as an egg in the burned ruins of a small town. she was found by a couple of human traveling salesman (mary and elliot) who mistook her egg for treasure and decided to keep it to later sell. when she hatched the couple decided to adopt and raise her. spending her childhood traveling, she grew up on stories and a love of big grand adventures and exploration. this is what developed her desire for adventure and her idea of what a hero looked like. she learned many of her bard skills, playing the fiddle, dancing, etc, by preforming to attract customers to her parents carriage. her parents loved her, but they weren’t the best people or parents and had absolutely no idea how to raise a child, especially one who wasn’t human. mara often felt isolated and different from everyone she met. in the storybooks she read, the dragon was always the villain, never the knight. this drove her deep desire to prove herself and that she could be a hero. once she grew up she went to the city to find a quest. she lived there for a little and learned to speak basic draconic. when she saw an ad looking for adventurers she immediately joined and that’s how she started the current adventure. what’s been happening so far - -basically they are investigating and trying to stop this group from summoning the “blood god” -but instead of telling you about that I’m going to tell you about some of the funny chaotic stuff that has happened - we have this weird mechanical crab-thing that we use to get around. mara insists on sitting on top of it whenever they travel and sometimes singing “country roads”. -we met this gnoll named vargg who forced us to do a bunch of trials but he was actually a really sweet person who was just doing his job so we adopted him into the group and he joined us for the rest of the adventure. his name is carl now. we love carl. I can tell you more about carl if anyone is interested. - mara sung an ode to the innkeeper’s cat, lola. she would later become the official bard of this inn - wick (another character) decided that crawling under a bridge was the best way to do a sneak attack. they cannot swim. - we convinced some scholars that they needed to go build a temple for a (completely made up) math god - we got one of the enemies (I think his name is tim?) to quit and follow their dreams to become a baker - we went grocery shopping and bought a ridiculous number of chickens - twice in one meeting a series of rolled ones still created enough chaos that we won - mara got her tail bitten (yes I know dragonborns don’t have tails, but I thought they were cool and my dm was ok with it) by what was basically a bear trap with mechanical legs because she was dancing in the middle of a fight (like the opening scene from guardians of the galaxy) - there’s probably more but I’m tired and this project is getting long wow that was long and kinda rambling. sorry about that lol hope u enjoyed! if you have any d&d stories I would love to hear them! if you want to hear more about any of this, just ask ^^
