Before you start, I will just say I'm not going to explain why I stopped posting for so long. It's personal. Aight Chara was um- so fun. So so fun. Very really fun to draw. No problems at all. Why would you assume anything of the sort? (it was because of the thumbnailing stage) And Frisk's mini poncho was just a blast to outline. So overall, this whole drawing was great. No problems anywhere /s
So- color-wise we already talked about Frisk, so we won't do that again. I swear eventually I won't have anything to say about the color because I'll already have said it. But I'll go over all of Chara's colors for your convenience Her skin tone and her hair actually work all right. The first problem is the light grey. It only works okay, could've been better. The dark grey works better with the skin tone (still not great) and worse with the brown. Only works well with the light grey. The dark blue on her choker only appears once, and you might not have even seen it until now. Like- the #1 rule is not to have a really dark color on top of/right next to another really dark color. Her eyes are almost true red. I've gone over this multiple times. Just don't do it. There's no need. I didn't realize this until I had to actually swatch the colors to write this, but her eyes and gem are different colors. I feel inclined to remind you all from the Mettaton drawing, there's no reason three different parts of a character are all once used colors. You can just make them the same color, or move around the colors. To fix these problems, most people associate blue with cyan, and cyan can easily look gray. I merged them all. I also made the brown warmer, and the black browner. Chara's front and side hairs were a struggle to draw in the original. I remember it was a struggle because they were the same length as the back hair. So I don't understand why I couldn't just make them different lengths? I understand that I was aiming to do a specific thing with Chara's eyes, but I have to do it right. Those eyes are off balance. From a character design perspective, it was supposed to have been 3-5 years and all that changed was their hairstyle? Did they like- did they not grow? It's been at least 3 years and you're still wearing the same clothes. Like- eh?? Anyways, that's the end. Time to write another description for my art bc I'm 2 days late :))
