"i know a thing or two about someone being the worst," he says like it's the worst thing in the world. "w-wha-" "calico is the absolute worst," he cuts her off. "I AM NOT!" she protests. "yeah, you kinda are. especially while you sleep. you snore. like. a. hippo." calico gasps, still looking offended. "I DO NOT!" "you move a lot while you sleep." "i-" "and you always hog the blankets and steal my pillows." "bu-" "also you steal all of the food. all of it." "but we-" "yeah. calico's the worst." she about to speak, but doesn't. she sighs, and looks ashamed. "i do hog blankets. BUT IT'S NOT MY FAULT I REQUIRE A FULL BLANKET TO SLEEP WITH!" "but can you explain the constant moving?" "i was just born into the world with a weird brian; I have to move all the time." "bria-" "BRAIN, I MEANT BRAIN!" he chuckles quietly. "stop bullying me." "wait..." robin starts, "how do you know she hogs blankets?" he stares at her. "and... steals your pillows?" matt adds. "and moves a lot while she sleeps?" robin says. "erm-" he tries to speak, but then stops. "it's a long story. one he's not entirely ready to share yet," she explains. they both nod, and go back to talking about how matt and calico are the worst. --------- backstory explained about jace and calico: calico was best friends with jace's younger sister, jayden. calico was one year older than jayden, but they had always gotten along, which is how jace and calico were introduced, and became best friends ( this happened when they were extremely young ). on jace's 15th birthday, his sister and mother were driving home with his birthday cake, when they got into an accident. his mother died right away, and jayden died on the way to the hospital. the news hit jace hard, and especially calico. so that night, he never got to blow out candles, or get happy birthday sung to him. his father, jace, and calico just stayed together. jace and his father tried to comfort her when she heard the news, and eventually fell asleep. that's what they were talking about. jace hates his birthday, and hates celebrating it; there's no point on celebrating; to him, it feels like he's just saying, "happy, it's - my - birthday, - but - also - your - death - day", day, i guess. he makes frequent references to that night when he feels like it won't hurt him, but most of the time, it does. he'd just rather not explain it. and that also explains why he's so moody and annoying. i'll add this to his bio haha no my characters are not crazy haha
