Unbeknownst to his mother, Scarletflame, it was in fact Needlestar who had injured the tom. His actions, while not entirely justified, were also not entirely unprovoked. Shards Of Glass was originally intended to have a sequel in which more of the events leading up to the attack are explained. Unfortunately, for the time being, it will remain a mystery. (Though I will say, the name "Shards Of Glass" was an idea derived from the characters Shard and Shardpaw, two of the main figures in said backstory.)
\/ \/ Please Read \/ \/ I started this project a little over a year ago, shortly before shoving it onto a back burner so I could complete the Back To The Start AMV in time for my 6 year Scratchiversary. While I worked on it on and off for a while after that, it was clear that my inspiration for this project was dwindling. Before long the art was pretty old and it became a tedious task to color every minor detail and do full scale backgrounds. Recently I made the decision to finally purge all of my long hoarded projects, to share them in a somewhat incomplete form in hopes of feeling semi-accomplished while getting a ton of weight off my shoulders. Shards Of Glass was originally intended to be a beautifully animated short with a healthy amount of flashbacks which told two sides of a story. In the end, it kind of turned into a jumbled mess of missed context. But here it is nonetheless. I hope that even in its unfinished form you can still comprehend and enjoy this short little piece of a roleplay that I animated over a year ago.
