done in scratch's art editors so the blur effect is kinda scuffed... ;v; CLICK TO ZOOM ON FINAL PRODUCT (@colorsnatch 's code, ofc) this life he's an unseelie ( w green skin!) who must infiltrate the annual yuletide ball hosted by the seelie court to get close and assassinate his (human) target. unfortunately, unseelies are banned from entry so he disguises himself as human with the *power of makeup* his reason for the assassination? it pays well lol - this time he's just doing odd jobs to earn money. ofc his end goal is the assassination of the seelie (bc they are basically responsible for driving his race underground) but he still hasn't figured out a viable way to kill one of them background info abt the setting: ♦3 major races that populate the earth - humans, seelie, unseelie ♦seelies are the "perfect beings" - they guide humans and have been involved in the construction / maintenance of all major human cities, which are run by human kings/government, but are also ultimately centered around at least 1 seelie "patron," who is the one who found the city and holds all the power. the seelie are near omniscient (or so it seems) and generally act mysterious, so no one really knows what their endgame plan is. (think angels but more ambiguous/neutral) ♦humans - just your average run of the mill human, but the citizens of each city will differ greatly - some cities are relatively "modern" and all residents have high literacy rates, while some are more similar to ancient greece - it all depends on the seelie patron ♦unseelies are actually quite similar to humans and used be more nature-oriented (think forest sprites, naiads, etc). in fact, the human race originated from ostracized unseelies who did not possess that spark of *nature magic*. then the seelie came along, and they blessed them + altered the outcasts' appearances after their own. afterward, *war shenanigans* ensued due to the humans' discontent over their former outcast status/oppression, which resulted in them exiling unseelies underground, where, ironically, the unseelies also lost their nature magic because of the lack of nature there. however, their overall looks remain mostly unchanged, (but also became more uniform after generations of intermixing). and although the unseelie were exiled to the underground, they are technically still able to travel and settle down aboveground, just not usually in the seelie cities. they either develop their own village far away from the cities or settle down in small human-run villages that don't have seelie patrons (which eventually leads to villages that are mixed blood aka they have ancestors that are both unseelie and human) lol idk if i explained it well but yea i swear i wasnt planning on that much info but it just somehow kept coming to me as i was writing stuff down until it grew into this monstrosity like- *is half of it even relevant to the actual prompt ie the assassination?* no. no it is not. but i still love it. im also not rlly satisfied w the composition bc the back of his head looks so ugly ;-; art + worldbuilding: character: music: sorry im not sorry by monsta x
