Four wolves sat around the fire pit, sharing stories and roasting marshmallows. “Who wants to go next?” Asks a brown wolf, tossing a roasted nut into her mouth. “I would, but I’m a bit busy keeping the fire going” a charcoal grey wolf swiped her paws upward and the fire grew bigger. “Iv’e got one” said the mischievous light grey wolf, who was the school prankster. “Ooo, if Max has a story it’s probably good” a grey brown wolf said, putting a new marshmallow on his stick. “It sure is. Its the legend of the Lake Monster.” Max said. “Long ago, there was a student at this school. He had water powers, but they weren’t very good. Every training class he got the worst grade, he lost every competition, and that made him mad and vengeful. From then on, he trained by the lake to become stronger. Some days, he would go the library and read books about making your powers stronger. One day, he found a book by Edward E. vil-face called ‘Channelling the water’ all about magic to make water powers stronger. Every day after that, he would read spells in the book and notes on training and use them to make him the strongest wolf. But he went too far. He used every spell again and again. He forced the lake water to come to him, in him, and strengthen his power. But the lake turned on him and the dark magic. It made his power stronger, but turned him into a wolf-fish monster and sent him to the bottom of the lake in a secret underwater cavern. He was never seen again, but every now and then, a water wolf goes into the lake and never comes out, and maybe eaten by the monster.” He finishes. “Wow… good story” said the brown wolf “The thing is, it might not be a legend” Max said with a wicked smile The dark grey wolf snorted “Really? A wolf monster in the lake?” She laughed again, the fire flaring with amusement with her. “You never know” said Max “it could be down there, waiting to get its revenge” “It’s getting late, we should go back to our dorms” said the grey brown wolf, looking at the sky. “Rock is right, we should go” said the brown wolf getting up. “Okay” said the charcoal grey wolf, putting out the fire They said goodbye and went back to their dorms, as the dark night went on and the moon rises in the sky, and the monsters of their imagination waited in the darkness. The End … or is it…
