Needs sufficient sense of smell Queen: takes care of kits (this can be a temporary role) Gatherer: will go out and gather materials the medicine cat or camp keepers (or anyone else) needs. Will also often go and collect extra prey from hunting patrols. Needs sufficient herb knowledge Guards: patrols the borders and guards the camp. Needs sufficient speed and fighting Advisor: pretty much a cat therapist. Will talk through other cat’s problems with them and help them find solutions. They’re also there to just listen if a cat needs to vent about something. They can also help settle fights Apprentices ~ training to be warriors (6-12 moons) Medicine cat apprentice ~ training to be a medicine cat (5-20 moons) Connector apprentice ~ training to be a connector (5-20 moons) Kits ~ cats too young to be training (0-6 moons) Elders ~ typically old cats retired from their roles Territory: A thick woodland with both deciduous and coniferous trees and lots of undergrowth. Tunnels snake their way underground, supported by tree roots and kept safe by the tunnelers. Most of the cats use these tunnels because the undergrowth is so thick. Long furred cats have an especially hard time getting through it. It’s also possible to get around by leaping from tree to tree. The camp is made in one of the only two clearings in the forest. It’s surrounded by a tall bramble and bracken barrier, and has tunnels leading out of it. The leader’s den is halfway up a dead tree in the hollow. The nursery is dug out under the roots of that tree and draped in ivy and brambles. A pile of stones nearby make a perfect medicine cat den, while the connector sleeps on top, under the stars. The elders' den is a bush that the barrier had been built around. The apprentices’ den and warriors’ den are two separate dens dug out of the ground. The only other clearing is a while away from the camp and is often called ‘the sunny clearing’ or just ‘the clearing’. It’s often used for hunting and hanging out. There is one spot in the forest that has three trees twisted together. It’s a favorite hanging out spot, and underneath the ground, the roots make it the safest tunnel/cavern in the territory, so it’s often used as a training space. Other Clans: There are two other clans that reside with WarrenClan: StreamClan and StrideClan. StreamClan lives in a hilly territory crisscrossed by little creeks to raging rivers. Stubborn and resilient, they swim gracefully and eat mainly fish with a few other land prey they can find. StrideClan lives on a flat prairie, running to their heart’s content. Proud and frivolous, they are surprisingly strong from running all day and battling the strong winds they get no shelter from. StreamClan makes their camp between two close hills while StrideClan makes theirs in a ring of heather and tall grasses. At the center of all the territories, there’s a wide, flat rock where gatherings are held. All the clans will bring prey to share with each other and exchange news at the full moons. On one edge of WarrenClan and StrideClan’s territory, there’s a twolegplace.
Traditions (and other things): -WarrenClan is a very decorative clan. They love adorning their nests, dens, camp, and even territory with pretty things. They also often have accessories themselves -when a loved one dies, most cats will take decorations off of themselves or their things unless the cat gave it to them -cats are normally buried outside of the territory -I realize that this got really morbid really fast lol -anyways, instead of a vigil, apprentices that are ready to be warriors must leave the territory for at least a quarter moon. This way, they’ll be able to explore some other ways of living before settling. They can choose to come back or not, but if they do come back, they’ll be given their warrior names. The other two clans do this as well -apprentices start by learning everything, then slowly narrow down what they want to do as time goes on -same gender couples or couples that don’t want to carry kits often will visit the twolegplace. There’s one cat who helps redirect kittens who were abandoned to cats who want to raise them (two moons and older) -there’s actually no moonpool or moonstone or anything, so StarClan visits the connector in their dreams and sends them omens in the real world to communicate The Warrior Code: -do not trespass in another clan’s territory without good reason. Never take prey while in another clan’s territory -elders, queens, kits, and sick cats must be fed before all others -a kit must be at least 6 moons old to become a warrior apprentice, and 5 moons to become a medicine cat apprentice or connector apprentice -apprentices who wish to be a warrior must first spend at least a quarter moon outside the clan -a cat cannot be made a deputy without mentoring an apprentice or raising kits first -the deputy will become leader when the leader dies. If not possible or they step down, StarClan will send a sign to the connector for who to choose -at a gathering, peace must be sustained. All clans must bring prey to share with the other clans -no cat may neglect a kit in danger or pain under any circumstances -do not kill other cats unless absolutely necessary -cats are allowed to have mates outside the clan, but if they want to have kits, they must get permission from the leader and figure out how the kits will be raised with their parents separated -kits are not allowed to leave camp without supervision unless accompanied by a cat 10 moons or older Notes: -medicine cats can have kits at all times (same goes with connectors) -the leader can wait a while to name their next deputy, as to give time to grieve and ponder the decision L I N K S : Cats: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/30232787 Sign-up: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/565055173/ RP Project: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/565064814/ Project Storage: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/30232811 Clan Lore: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/565063539/ Taken Prefixes: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/565064050/
