Press space or click. Hey! This is my co app for the November 2021 session of SWC. I hope that whoever sees it enjoys it! Writing excerpt (I wrote this during SWC last session): Bryce was running. He had been for over an hour. He had to get to the safe zone. He had to warn his family, his community. He was in danger; all of them were. The strange creature, looking to be made out of lava and fire, was out of hiding and coming straight for the town. Nevermind that all of their progress would be utterly destroyed, they could be scorched and die. He couldn’t let everyone die. So, he ran, despite the burning in his throat and his calves and his nose. He wanted to stop for water, but he was so close to the town. He couldn’t stop. He could make out the spacecraft launch pad that marked the edge of town. It was just down the hill. The adrenaline rushed through him as he got closer. He was almost there; he would save everyone. Just a few hundred more feet… He was in town square. He rushed through the crowd of people, getting angry looks and words thrown at him. He was about to reach the mayor's house. Bryce banged on the door. “Mayor, please, open up! I need to talk to you-” The door was pulled open and Bryce almost fell forward, but the mayor caught him. “What is it son?” he asked, concern in his voice. “T-there-” “Take a deep breath.” Bryce stopped and took a few deep breaths before continuing. “The lava monster in the forest, the one that we learn about in school, it’s awake.” “Uh, are you sure? It shouldn’t have woken-” “I’m sure! I saw it with my own two eyes! Please, you have to have everyone evacuate! It can-” “Son, what were you even doing in the woods? It’s against the rules to go in there. You know that, surely.” “But Mayor, that isn’t important right now! We need to get out!” “I’m sorry son, but you are getting a two week house arrest.”
