Click the flag You're welcome to use this (if you really want to LOL) but please ask first-- I like to know where my work is going ;)
Yes I know it's very simple, but I thought I'd give you a glimpse into my design process (though I don't always do a large animation first-- just if the pixel version is giving me trouble). So this is a basic 4-frame runcycle outline thingy for Hiro. Obviously this isn't the sprite I'm really gonna be using, as it's super messy and all, but what I'll do next is shrink it down to the size I want for the sprite (64x64 pixels) and then draw my pixel sprite over it. This will serve as an anatomical reference for where everything should be at a given time, though I'll likely do some tweaking once I actually get it to that size (such as fix the angle of the chest in the first frame where it's twisted too much toward the viewer). It's basically the equivalent of a rough draft in writing, but for art. You may notice the grey behind the actual outline. That's my basic sketch of each frame (literally a circle for the head, square for the body, and lines for the arms and legs), just so I can get a feel for where everything should be at a given time. Will post finished pixel sprites when I'm done ;) Edit 4/12/15: Added the smaller, actual-sized base. Basically what this is is a shrunk-down version of the large one to the far left, that I'm going to pixel over for the final version.
