Luz's POV: Those first few seconds were loud and painful, yet quiet and peaceful at the same time. All I could hear was the screaming screaming of everyone...the loudest being Amity. Then...nothing at all. Everything went blank. I couldn’t hear anything - nor see anything. It was as if life itself was gone. Then...I saw it. - - - - - Outside POV: The wind was blowing, as the rain had simmered down. It had still been dark enough, that many could, and had, mistaken it to be night, despite it being 11:34 AM. However, even as it had stopped raining, the clouds hadn’t cleared away. It was as if that the main problem has ceased, but the aftermath had lasted. Amity bolted forward at the rubble, and within half of a second, she used spells to lift the rubble out of the way, as she dug through as well. A few other students, including Willow and Gus, had bolted forward at the rubble, doing the same thing, in order to free Luz as quickly as possible. Despite the amount of help, however, it would take about an hour or too, as she had gotten buried at the very bottom of the destroyed school. As she had been uncovered, Emira had noticed Luz hadn’t been breathing at all. She placed her ear on Luz’s chest, to try to listen for a heartbeat. After a few seconds, she stood up, mortified. Amity, noticing her sister’s expression didn’t want to assume the worst, though it might’ve been. “. . . What . . . ?” She asked, hoping Luz was simply unconscious, and alive, and hoping Emira’s expression was her simply joking. “L-Luz...S-She’s . . .” Emira would start to say, however due to the amount she had started to cry, she only choked out those words. Edric realized what happened, as his eyes widened, as tears dripped down his face as well. Seeing the twins cry was a rare occurrence, not even Amity had seen it before. “W...W-What..?” Amity asked again, thinking it might’ve been the worst situation that could’ve happened, but hoped it was just Edric and Emira playing a trick on Amity. “She’s gone…” Edric managed to say in between sobs. Amity, not believing this, walked up to Luz’s body, tears falling down both of the girls faces. “Luz, please…” Amity begged. “Wake up...you’re not dead...you can’t be dead...please...just wake up…!” She begged, as wind had softly blown around Amity, adding calmness to the depressing atmosphere. The sky had gotten darker, until anything could barely be seen. Amity lifted Luz’s body, summoning a light spell to illuminate the way to the owl house, as to honor Luz. She walked away, carrying the cold, lifeless body of the human, walking towards the owl house.
